Sidla wrote:No offence Topher, but that is the advice my friends gave me, and if I don't follow their advice I'm hardly going to follow yours.

Then take your friends' advice instead... You will seriously always regret it otherwise.

Don't listen to horoscopes, according to mines, I am going to fall for someone with a birthday near mines, and that means some law guy I fool around with. I don't do falling for people, and especially not him.

The only way you are ever going to truly find out, is if she sat across from you and said it to your face, and the chances of that are extremely slim.

Found God? I need me a new man.. the exams are over today, so I am free to drink and do what I want without feeling any pangs of guilt that I should perhaps be studying. Oh yes..

Don't girls talk about who they like between themselves? I could send a spy in.

your spy would have to be a girl, and the girls in question would have to be 16.

I have girl friends. Do you seriously stop talking about things like that when you pass 16?

they aren't so obvious. i dunno. i'd be suspicious if one of my friends asked, "so... what do you think of (sidla)?"

True. I would have to get them to be discrete.

Sidders you need to do this, seriously. It's clearly something that's eating away at you, otherwise you would never have mentioned it. If she knows for absolute certain that you like her she's more likely to communicate her true feelings back to you; so therefore you have to tell her. It's not rocket science, it might be nerve-racking but for f*ck's sake you will feel far better after having done it.

What are you scared of? Rejection? If she rejects at least you will then know - it'll still be a relief and then you can move on - but from what you've said, the likelihood is that you won't be rejected, and then the ending (short-term at least and who knows in the long-term) can only be a happy one.

At the end of the day there are two answers you can get. One is good, the other not so. You can't sit there wondering what might happen if you ever got the bollocks to do it because then it'll never happen.

Who's Lindsay?

I don't think I'm scared of rejection, I don't even think I'm scared of her never talking to me again. I think the thing that scares me most is that if she says yes it will be a huge change in my life, and to be quite frank, I wouldn't even know what to do. I am also worried about what people would think, as everyone has always known me as being a single guy and might find it odd that I should have a girlfriend. Admittedly the latter thing doesn't really bother me nearly as much, as I don't really care what people think anyway.

you should talk to my boyfriend. i am his only girlfriend ever. he was 27 when we started dating, and he realised that a lot of that stuff doesn't matter.

Well if she says yes don't expect it to be all marriage and babies talk straight off... Obviously everyone does things at their own pace but frankly if she starts talking about that straight off you need to run a mile - but I'm sure she won't.

I get the impression that you're a caring bloke; you will know what to do, it will just come natural. Honestly Sidla, it'll be a nice change - something different, nice warm feelings and all that other mushy stuff. Do yourself and all of us a favour and tell her.

Above all, it doesn't have to be a huge change. You can still carry on doing normal things that you do and so can she - it's just that you either do them with her or fit them around her. Don't be a cling-on and expect to see her 24/7, don't live in each other's pockets. If she says yes then just go with the flow.

Ask yourself what have you got to lose? (Answer: only your virginity... That may sound harsh and I know it's not the reason you would be asking her but the reality is that if you don't do this now you'll never do it; the consequences of which may end up being that you'll never end up with anyone and possibly never lose your V plates.)
