Atlantic 252 is to be replaced on the airwaves by a new sports radio station.<br><br>TEAMTalk 252 will provide in-depth coverage of major sporting events, including football, rugby, horse racing, motorsport and cricket.<br><br>The new station will be launched on February 25.<br><br>Music station Atlantic 252 stopped broadcasting last week after it was acquired from RTL on December 5 last year, UKRadio.com reports.<br><br>A spokesman said: "TEAMtalk 252 will also give a voice to overseas and specialist sports, setting it apart from any other sports station in the market."<br><br>As well as reaching listeners across mainland Britain, TEAMtalk 252 will reach sports fans in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.<br><br>Bill Wilson, Chairman and Chief Executive of TEAMtalk said: "TEAMtalk 252 will be the first station totally dedicated to sport 24 hours a day - a compelling choice for both listeners and advertisers alike.<br><br>"We surprised the radio market with our acquisition, but since then we have received positive feedback from key players in the industry and we are looking forward to launching at the end of February."<br><br><br><br>that should tell you what happened, RTL, huge german company, so talksport, 5 live and this.
