Hi Aled, just a note to congratulate R1 and the production Company (Music 4?)who made the imaging for Germany. I think it is very good mainly because it is (in my opinion) 'bouncy' and makes me smile. So congratulations on producing such a good package! Please pass my comments on to those who deserve it as i would like to give them some thanks for all their hard work!

Will do. Got to say I agree with you, Music 4 (and Sandy in particular) has done a great job.

Well? I'm shocked at the level of quietness following the launch of the German shows! Is that a good or bad sign?

Comments please. What do you like, what don't you like?

outside broadcasts are good with the daves shocking grasp of the german language. th upcoming guests sound good as well as long as the topic of conversation isnt all about englands chances of repeating 66. id like to think chris has more imagination than that!

as i think a few folk have said, i think a return of BBB or CPC would be welcomed, if for germany only!

I liked the show, the shows abroad are always good because there is lots more material to talk about, I thought the jingles were great.

The rest of the team gone to the match Aled?

I'll be listening on monday.. :D

Well, it's a nice change to hear the show coming from another location. I'm sure it's a nice change for you guys on the team as well, there's nothing better than working in the great outdoors. A lot of the comedy on Friday's show seemed to be the teams understanding of Germany and their language. It's a shame you can't track Christophé (sp?) down, but I'm looking forward to the rest of your "holiday" shows over the next few weeks :P
I also look forward to you interviewing Grace on Friday (please vote, public!). I hope you certainly get your wish of being back in time to interview her, I'm sure you'll grill her the way we want you to!

Chris and Dave's experiences with the local wildlife was hilarious. Dave's shocking German is superb. You first guide to the world cup nations was great! Looking forward to seeing how many "goodfacts" you can slip in among the "realfacts" ;). Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. Sounds like you're having a great time. The show is going superbly! Loved your comentaries on the blog from the Autobahn too :)

Whoever's idea it was to book Noel Gallagher deserves a gold star. He's always good, and from euro 04, it was a great interview with chris.

I know this really isn't the kind of feedback you're looking for, and I'm going to apologise here for what I'm going to say, but I'm going to tell the truth and say that I didn't particularly enjoy Friday's show, and I know the same will be true of the majority of shows from Germany. This isn't a reflection on the amount of work I'm sure has gone into the shows, it is simply because I hate football and anything to do with it. I know, like in Portugal, you'll try to include some non-football related material too, but there's no getting away from the fact that there will be a lot of football talk and football guests over the next few weeks. I will admit that another reason I won't enjoy the shows is because I just don't like change. I like the format of the usual shows, and I don't even like it when, for example, you have a guest on at the 'wrong time' i.e. after 9, as happened with Billie and Jon Culshaw recently (I really should try to work on being a bit more flexible :D). The only thing I really enjoyed when you were in Portugal was the soap opera element of you all living together, so I'm looking forward to hearing some of that type of thing again. I did also enjoy your first guide, but I want to hear you on air talking with the rest of the team as usual as well, and you really weren't on much at all on Friday, we had Chappers on at half-time instead and I could't be less interested in what he has to say. So the upshot of all this is that I probably won't listen as much as usual over the next few weeks(I will try, but I just can't stomach very much footie talk at all before I have to turn off), but I will definitely become a loyal listener again once everything's back to normal :D

Aled,

Civilization.

Are you a fan of other games like that - did you ever play Red Alert or Empire Earth? I'd def. recommend Empire Earth along with the upgrade pack.

Hey Aled.

What's going on with the German adverts. I get the fact that you're in Germany and the World cup is in Germany, but the oompah music in the jingles is enough for that surely without the adverts. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a one off or something but it feels like they're played every half hour and I still can't understand what they say.

To me they just aren't funny and just serve to insert a pointless break between songs / jingles whatever.

What's the deal with them?

I think they are quite amusing. Are they recorded off German TV or have they been made especially for the show?

I think they've been made for the show. Two reasons, firstly I can understand a bit of german and in one it says "97-99". And Secondly in Aled's Blog "behind the scenes at the Chris Moyles show"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chrismoyles/ ... chris.html

He says here is where we make the german ads.

I still don't find them funny though. It's just some guy speaking German. It's like watching Glyn and Imogen off BB talking in Welsh. Close your eyes so you can't read the subtitles and it just becomes gibberish.

Are you going to be sent out and about to try out your German language skills again soon? After last week's very funny effort in the bakery Chris said you'd be doing it again when you moved to a new part of Germany. But you didn't go out while at the army base as far as I know (I haven't been listening too much). You should definitely do it again, because as a football hater I thought it was easily one of the funniest links of the Germany shows so far.
