Chris is to front the pilot of a new music show, Apocalypse Tube, a remake of classic pop show The Tube.
Chris will co-host the TV special on November 20 with Geordie babe Donna Air. And if the trial is a success, bosses at Sky and Channel 4 will consider a whole series.
The one-off show will be beamed live from The Tube's original home, the Tyne Tees studio in Newcastle. It also promises to reunite original presenters Jools Holland and Paula Yates who helped make the 80s series such essential viewing.
But 25-year-old Chris insisted: I was only eight when it started. Neither of us watched it religiously and that's good news. We could have ended up being really bad Jools and Paula wannabes.
Chris added he has no interest in a full-time TV job, saying: I'm the greatest broadcaster in the country at the moment, I can't leave radio.
