Chris has been listening to American radio stations and he says they should rename them The Pink/Jennifer Lopez station. Look above for the irony. After Lizzie not sleeping yesterday, Lizzie made up for it by sleeping a full 8 hours. Chris however stayed out til 2:30am with Quiz winner Paul hanging out at the 4 seasons hotel with Vinnie Jones, Chris Evans and Danielle Brent, former Hollyoaks star. Vinnie barracked Paul on his sideburns and says if he sees him again and they arent cut off he will put him through a window. Thats Vinnie being friendly by the way. The Two Chris' got on very well it seems though why the ex Hollyoaks girl was there, I havent the faintest idea.
Chris tells the truth about Coacello. The reason why it took them so long was that they were involved in a crash. Well not Chris, Dave and Will as they drove in their own vehicle but the big van driven by Exec Producer Mick Meadows. It was just had a slight knock to it. Chris makes contact with Emma B across the globe. As I said yesterday she is sitting onhand just incase Chris falls off the air or into blind drunk insanity, the latter probably being the more realistic. Emma has assembled her own posse it seems with Miles, Danny and Mike all whooping in the background.
Will had planned to have a surprise planned for each of the team but it looks as though Chris special surprise guest is unavailable. Will was planning on bringing in Hank Azaria, who does the majority of the male voices in the Simpsons. Will was going to do the first non blind folded studio Guess Who but it hasnt worked out.
Daves surprise though occurred yesterday whilst they were having a tour around the Warner Bros Studio. Dave was apprehensive at the start of the trip because he didnt know if he was going to like Wills surprise but when he saw his surprise, he was well pleased. As some of you are aware, Daves favourite televison show is the mighty early 80's show The Dukes Of Hazzard. Dave was transported into the place where they filmed the shows with the sets still up and got to get inside the vehicle, the General Lee, possibly more famous than the actors.
Paul was SUCCESSFUL in his task to interview a pop star. The pop star was Christina Millian and they played some of the interview. Chris asked if she ever shut up and was she wearing a low cut top. Paul said they chatted for about half an hour. To hear more and the full interview go to BBC ONLINE.
The Newsbeat LA reporter Peter Bowes, came in to visit the team and some handy tips of living in America. He said that the weather is usually hotter than now. He decided for a change of job and came here in 1996 to follow the OJ Simpson trial. He says the pitfalls are working in two times zones. This means that if he has to report for the Newsbeat bulletin at 12:45pm in the UK, its is 04:45am in LA and he has to work before that to get the story and interviews so it can be tiring.
Later today they are interviewing the legend that is John Lydon, AKA Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. Will has poo pooed plans to do a pub crawl as it might get a bit dangerous for both parties. Lydon has remixed the jubillee anthem God Save The Queen with Leftfield, although I was sure they had split up a month ago or so.
As if that wasnt enough at night they are going to the Playboy mansion to see the Gumball Rally. Chris predicts that it will eclipse all expectations or be complete rubbish and they will leave early. This is why the Tuxedos were needed. As a side note, Paul said he got his tuxedo over here at a place called Friar Tux.
Pauls task today is to get the British Band A with their single Starbucks played on American radio and he has to show evidence. All he will be given is the single.
To see Paul and Daves Diary Go To Radio 1 Online.
