Chris watched Back To Reality on five last night and began todays show with a clip featuring that (spoon) bender Uri Geller and Mr larger than life himself Rik Waller, complete with his new Bob Marley hairdo. Chris played a clip where Rik said he struggles to find just two words to describe himself. He opened the floodgates by inviting texters to come up with two words to describe Rik on 81199 (bonus points awarded for rhymes). Responses to complete the sentence “I’m...” included - a fat fart, part elephant, a giant rolo, Mount Everest, going to eat you, Blob Marley and (much to Chris’s annoyance) Chris Moyles. Chris told everyone who can pick up five to start watching Back To Reality as he’ll be going on about it for the next three weeks. Yesterday was a big day for Mr Moyles as he finally decided to splash out on an iPod, although he has no idea why as he said he will never need to listen to 5000 songs when he’s going somewhere. He said he should have just bought a discman instead. Today was the first opportunity to look back at the Valentines weekend and it turns out that both Chris and Daves weekends went well. Daves romantic weekend ran all the way through from Friday night to Sunday night and according to him was “one big romantic rollercoaster”. On Saturday he and Emma went for a nice romantic meal of fish, chips and mushy peas (well that was just Dave - Emma had some fancy seafood linguine that Dave didn’t like the look of). Dave wore casual dress, peeing off Chris because Dave did a big link last week saying how much he thought a suit was a necessity. Chris did wear a suit, although he forgot to buy Sophie a card (surely one of the most important things to remember on Valentines Day). Even Dave had remembered to buy a card (from the Late Shop on Friday), complete with a bottle of wine and some flowers ordered off the t’internet. Somehow during all this romance he even managed to find time to fit in watching all 4 televised FA Cup games. Chris and Sophie obviously went out for a posh meal on Saturday but Chris wouldn’t reveal where. He did however pick up a real A-List Guess Who. It was Thierry Henry, who he spotted twice on the same day (the first time on his own, the second time with Sophie who is an Arsenal fan). Chris did some funny french impressions, saying Thierry would be heading into training this morning with a huge celebrity Guess Who for his teammates to identify (i.e Moyles). Chris’s impressions slowly turned from french to Mexican however - “arriba arriba” an all that.
DURING STEREOPHONICS MOVIE STAR INTRO...
Chris - Hey Bobby, What is french for va va voom? (pause)
Dave (laughing) - What is french for fat DJ?
Chris - Shut Up (pause)....free tickets for Arsenal - Leeds wouldn’t go amiss by the way Mr Thierry, cheers
Dave (still laughing) - 8 please with hospitality
Chris - and backstage passes
(both laugh)

Following the Valentines weekend, Chris wanted to pick a romantic (yet not slow) love song for Buzz Off today - settling in the end for Part-Time Lover by Stevie Wonder. Chris dedicated it to George Best and his Part-Time Liver, a gag he said he’s not done for 15 years but it is still as topical today as it was then. Aled buzzed on 26 seconds, Rach on 1:18 and Dave on 3:37 - although the song made it to the end as less than 2000 texts came in. Dave also had news of how old afternoon producer and now daytime producer Greyhead Kinder had spent Valentines Day with his lovely girlfriend Anabelle. The answer - paint balling. Dave thought it was borderline genius and also liked the special Ferry Corsten remix that Will had made on Friday for todays show (basically a bit like the Benni Bennasi one he did last year). I agree with Dave and Rachel that it was funny although Chris referred to it as tacky crap and told Rachel from now on to start issuing Will with more work as he has far too much free time on his hands. Chris preferred the remix of Dominic Bryne’s fast-becoming legendary Jeff-man, sent in by Stuart Brierdon from Milton Keynes. It included a clip of Roy Walker, a bizarre key change and a spooky ending featuring Rachel’s laugh.

MONDAY CHART UPDATE - WES LIVE IN THE STUDIO:
As I mentioned on Friday, Wes is filling in all this week for Nemone on Early Breakfast - and therefore hung around today for the chart chat at 7.45. He was complaining about the fact that he only got 2 and a half hours sleep last night so was off to bed as soon as he got home, after finishing chatting to Chris of course. Chris ran through all the new entries in yesterdays exhilarating chart, sadly including Reptilia by The Strokes at a lowly number 17. He briefly attempted to make Wes sing the top ten again but he gave up after no. 9, due to Wes’s protests. Number 8 this week is Michelle and number 1 Sam and Mark, all of whom Chris met the other night after a drinking session with Avid Merrion. This was after the NME’s and the late night karaoke, in a swanky London hotel. Avid spotted the three of them and they were introduced to both Chris and Rachel. All Chris could remember was Michelle telling him she liked his parody and him pinning Sam up against the wall, telling him he should never have teamed up with Mark as it was a terrible idea. Nevertheless, they made it to number 1 and Chris reluctantly played the record. Dave couldn’t believe the intro was the actual intro and Wes seemed to think it sounded like Agadoo. With Wes on for Nemone, Nemone on for Whiley and Mills on for Mark and Lard, Chris called the Radio 1 schedule throw a six-to-start this week. Mills even had to text him to say he was covering for Mark and Lard as Chris originally didn’t know, yet even then he still managed to balls it up. He said he didn’t give a rats ass anyway as he wouldn’t be listening. Tomorrow is Brits night and Wes suggested him and Chris meet up for a pint afterwards, as he is doing all the cheesy voice over stuff. Chris said he has yet to be invited but is planning to gatecrash and present an award. He suggested Aled kidnap an award presenter, Dave mess with the autocue and then Chris march on with his assistant Rachel to give out the award. He’ll have the full plan on the show tomorrow morning. Dave was liking the sound of it but said “I think if we’re going to do something like that we’ve got to keep it to ourselves”. Chris asked Juliette to fetch Alan Green’s commentary of Portsmouth’s goal against Liverpool in the Cup yesterday, just to see what it was like. Green is notorious for his Liverpool bias, although disappointingly he sounded quite fair on that particular clip. Jules has met Green lots of times and said he’s a nice fella, but she wasn’t so sure whether he’d like the Moyles show. Chris and Dave agreed that that the show is specialist (although still a bit populist) so therefore they can’t appeal to everyone. Apparently 8ft tall 5 Live commentator John Murray does listen to the show though, although Chris had never heard of him before.

ANTHONY KIEDIS: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS PHONECALL:
Live from his LA home at 8:15 (twenty past midnight over there), Anthony was on to confirm two new dates being added to the RHCP Tour. They will now be playing at The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Wednesday June 23rd and also playing yet another gig at London’s Hyde Park on Friday June 25th (Full details available here via Radio 1 Online or by calling 08700 100 100 and then choosing option 2). Chris talked about how fantastic they were when he’s seen them previously, a blatant bit of kiss-assing cos he’s after free tickets. Chris told him about how fantastic The Millennium Stadium is as a venue..
Chris - You can either have the roof on or the roof off
Anthony - Er, well maybe we’ll just have to tear the roof off
Chris - I think there's a button that does it to be honest
Dave - Mmm. Depends on the weather..
Anthony (laughing) - That sounds so anti-climatic, pushing a button

Despite the fact Chris wanted to talk about the gigs, Anthony seemed preoccupied with another subject - and in particular one person.
Anthony - Rachel?
Rachel (off mic) - Hello
Anthony - Hello, just wanted to say hi
Rachel (on mic) - Aw, hello
(Everyone else oohs and aahs in a comedy stylee)

Chris told Anthony he’d be so disappointed when he sees Rachel in real life, although he didn’t seem to agree. He invited them all to the shows this summer, particularly Rachel...
Chris - By The Way (an accidental pun I think), I am available to support you if you need some warming up
Anthony - Rachel’s taking care of that, thank you
Chris - Oh is she? Alright, fine
Anthony - Are you coming Rachel?
Rachel - I could do. I could play my guitar for you
Anthony - Yeah?
Chris - A bit like Phoebe in Friends

As the interview continued, Anthony started to become less and less enthusiastic (his excuse being it was bedtime and he was in bed with his Rhodesian Ridgeback dog). Rachel said that the next time she visits her cousin in LA, Anthony could go out with them.
Dave - Well he’s open to offers, he’s in bed with his dog
(Chris laughs)
