Before I start, I'd better just quickly point out that I have purposely been avoiding the show this week due to the whole charity aspect - don't get me wrong it's not that I don't think that Comic Relief is an unworthy cause, it's just that in the past there have been some pretty poor links consisting of constantly reading the text number out, and from what I've heard this week has pretty much been the same. I've also heard there have been some good links as well, but I don't feel like wading through the bad to get to the good. So sorry if I sound quite bitter about the show, but it's just the way I am.
Today's segment of the Red Nose Rally came live from Aled Country - that's Wales to you and me - or to be more specific Radio Cardiff. The team are impressed by the studio that they are in as it's huge, almost like a mansion. Chris warns the team not to get too attached to their temporary home, as BBC cutbacks are looming and they are coming for BBC Radio Cardiff - like much of the BBC they are being relocated to Manchester!
Despite Aled not wanting to comment on the quality of the accommodation last night, Chris made a statement anyway on his behalf. With no phones in the rooms and having to literally shout down to reception to get something, Aled came into Chris's room, put his head in his hands and stated that he needed a drink - WooWoo's all round then.
Dave: I'd just like to say that it was quality accommodation at a price you can afford
Chris: You weren't even paying
After all the initial complaints though, the room wasn't too bad - after all Chris got the best night's sleep he'd had on the whole tour. I don't think the statement that "you can hear a fly fart" will be winning that particular hotel any awards though.
Dave's Sore Throat and Yesterday's Antics
Poor old Dave, he's been ill all week, but on today's show you could really hear the strain in his voice. Of course today's particularly strong strain had nothing to do with Dave and Chappers' late night drinking event last night. Dom of course had no sympathy with him, as Chappers had decided to ring Dom up at 10 to midnight as revenge for Dom ringing (and therefore waking) Chappers up yesterday morning. Dom even suggested that Dave should sing 'Handbags and Gladrags' to suit Dave's new found Gravellosity - well it would make a nice change from the 'Love Boat' theme tune.
After the show yesterday the team got up to a few more fund raising events. These included:
-Comedy Dave bouncing up and down on a trampoline, whilst downloading an e-mail and smiling for the on looking camera's (the traditional way to raise funds)
-Dom and Carrie sitting on the largest Woopie Cushion in the world
-Chris trying to stay on a mechanical surfboard for 3 seconds to raise £50
- Dom and Carrie also fed some sharks at the sea-life centre. They met a group of school children on the way, but luckily didn't feed them to the sharks. There followed a real "awww" moment when the interviewed some of the kids about sharks - they eat meat but not news or sports readers apparently. If the sharks did try to attack our pair of newshounds though, it wouldn't matter, as one of the kids interviewed would just kill it.
-Chappers at some tennis event where those participating get £50 per rally or something. Holly from Ministry of Mayhem (the fit one) was there too. I'll just include a pic to *ahem* jog your memory
New Jingles
Today we are in Cardiff, but we're heading for Land's End,
We've done so many miles, will this rally ever end?
Next we'll head for Plymouth, home of the naval docks,
We'll have a bear, eat some food and maybe wash our socks,
The Chris Moyles Red Nose Rally, On National Radio 1
Today we're live from Cardiff, but we're leaving at 11,
We'll cross the severn bridge and make our way down to Devon,
Then We'll got to Cornwall - to see our Cornish friends,
And Chris will beep his horn when we finally reach Land's End

Aled and the Tardis, Ferne Cotton and other stuff on today's show
In another fundraising idea, the team down in BBC Wales have decided that today you could get your picture taken with the world famous tardis from Dr.Who - since the new series of the show was filmed in Wales y'see. For an extra couple of quid you could get your picture taken with Aled and the tardis, if you were the ultimate geek (and let's be honest if you were having the picture taken with just <s>a random police box</s> the tardis, you are going to be a massive geek anyway).
Unfortunately, Aled didn't like the idea of singing "We're walking in the air" whilst in the Tardis - although that's probably because he couldn't get in the damn thing. The good Doctor clearly not having time to unlock it this morning (weird considering that he is the time lord). There was confusion at exactly what radio station this was taking place at - was it Radio Wales (the English Speaking station) or Radio Cymru (The Welsh speaking station - sorry if I spelt that wrong Aled, if you're reading). Either way it didn't matter as they are both situated in the same building.
Just after 8:00 Comedy Dave was thrown out of the studio and sent on his way to Land's End. The 'official' reason was that Dave has been driving like a maniac and Chappers just can't stand it any more - so Dave has been ordered to go early and drive like a normal person instead. That reason doesn't look too convincing when you look at the replacement…Comedy Ferne Cotton. Dave thinks it's because Chris will have a better chance to get with Ferne if he isn't around, but with his blotchy face this morning, Chris sees it as a victory either way. Dave still had a radio mic though, to join in periodically.
Ferne was in town to help sell the main prize on today's show of being a TOTP floor manager. Of course you didn't have to go any old week when Sunset Strippers might be on - instead you could go when your favourite act is playing, such as Aerosmith as Dave suggested. Plus there was bonus cash being raised by Chris himself, when he announced that he would donate £1 to Comic Relief for every minute that he wasn't flirting with Ms.Cotton. Needless to say I don't think too much was raised.
Dave's mic didn't do him a lot of good - it made him miss the first segment of today's tedious link (see below) as well as making him sound more awful than he did when he was in the studio. Thus he was cut out of the show altogether, with even talk of Chappers replacing him - that is if he can stop waxing his hair and putting cream on his hands - in a sort of role swap. Coming soon Scott Mills and Dave Vitty at Drivetime.
Whattity What and Carpark Catchphrase
Whattity What didn't appear today - no they haven't dropped it sadly, it's just taking a break for the Rally. Roy Walker and Mr.Fish are also having a holiday and will return on Monday morning.
Tedious Link
Aerosmith - 'Love In An Elevator'….Somehow links to Moby (we missed half the link due to technical difficulties - nice) - Moby rhymes with Gobi which is a famous desert - if you add another s to desert you get dessert, which is what you have after your main meal with coffee - coffee can be black or white -'Black or White' was a hit for Michael Jackson - Michael Jackson shares the same last name with Glenda Jackson who is an MP - MP's are involved with government and making laws and stuff - laws have to be obeyed otherwise you end up in jail - jail rhymes with Gail as in Gail Porter - Gail Porter is from Scotland which is where we started out journey and today we entered the last part of our journey, but Chris is still in Cardiff the capital of Wales and when you think of Wales in the context of bands that are making good music and doing good business at the top of the hit parade, you think of the Stereophonics which links us to Stereophonics - 'A Thousand Trees'
