With the introduction of ITV Play next week, many people think it has come to the worst in the history of quiz channels, people get huge phone bills for trying to phone in just to fail to get through or incorrectly answering near impossible questions, do you think it's time to pull the curtain down on them?

OFCOM are actually partly to blame, so it's no use complaining to them. They recently told Channel 4 and ITV to get revenue elsewhere

Channels like ITV put these sorts of programs on because people watch them. TV stations know that the general populace are stupid enough to phone in to try and answer a near impossible question at the chance of 'winning big', if they weren't then the shows wouldn't be on.

Noone is being forced to watch or phone into these programs, but people do, and until people stop they will stay on the air, you may not like it, I may not like it, but it's the way it works unfortunately.

Noone wins properly in competitions these days. They are just money making things. Bring back the good old days when you wrote your answers on the back of a postcard and posted them to the studio address.

Did anyone hear that police raided the offices of Big Game TV! after alleagtions of misconduct, apparantly an operator was told not to answer any calls for between 45 minutes and 2 hours resulting in no correct answers been given on air! I hope this is the beginnign of the end of this quiz channel nonsense.

Because they changed Men and Motors to ITV Play on freeview.

And before you say it, I didn't watch Men and Motors for gratuitous naked flesh, (that was hardly ever on freeview Men and Motors)!

At least with my freeview box I can rename/ delete/ move channels so i deleted that crap!

Recently a person called a Radio 4 programme to say that he was barred from enetering Quiz Call again after winning loads of money and they also admitted getting their own staff members to pose as prize winners, you can read more at this address below.

Quiz Call have just dramatically cut it's hours meaning it now starts at 8:00pm instead of 12:00 midday and if you're a fan of FTN Quiz Night Live, then you'll be disappointed to know that it will be ending on Saturday. Let's keep this thread going.

To expose big corporations such as ITV who really should know better than to stoop so low as to get morons to up their bank balance, Moyles was right to show how idiotic they are both as a concept and as entertainment. If channels dont keep with the flow and make good shows and if too many new channels keep popping up on my freeview it shows what a rubbish world the new digital era is fast becoming. I've always argued theres enough time in the world for the four (not five) decent channels which have long existed and should not be forced to compete with the johnny come latelies who snatch programmes and sporting events which were once paid for already on the license fee. I shall give an example:

Five US
Five Real Life

Two of the latest servings of crap, and late at night when most people are in bed you will find on at least one of these channels....take a wild guess....

Quiz Phone in Shows!

New channels are made to serve to top-up the bank balance of failed corporations. I should get some anorak to find some telly listings from 15 years ago so we can compare what programming used to be on at that hour of night before Brian feckin' Dowling and co pushed in. ITV's big boss getting the sack is a sign of the times.
