For those of you who miss Robot Wars. There is a live show Robot Rumble Christmas Spectacular in December:

ROBOT RUMBLE

Roboteers and Robot Enthusiasts and their families will be invading Wood Green Animal Shelter, Godmanchester for a Christmas Spectacular on Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 December 2006. Household names from the ROBOT WARS™ TV fame and many new Robots will be doing battle each day at the ROBOT RUMBLE.

Enthusiasts travel the length of the country to see the thrills and the spills of combat and Roboteers from the Continent usually join us. You may have seen ROBOT WARS™ but nothing will compare with the excitement of seeing them live form the ringside. This is truly the outing for all the family.

Throughout the weekend the action will include fights between many of the TV Champions and ex champions and could include the mighty Behemoth, and Kan-Opener as well as many other favourites. Lists of entries and other information will be posted on [Link removed] website. Among the other attractions there will be boxing robots and there is a rumble in the jungle that a Dalek and an Antroid may invade and of course Father Christmas has been invited to join us

There are two competitions each day in the Purpose built bullet proof transparent polycarbonate “Makralon” arena, The Panel of Judges will include Rex Garrod, one of the first Robot WarsTM stars and inventor of the Cassias series of robots, Arthur Chilcott mastermind of Mortis and Alan Gribble of Pussy Cat fame.

Tickets are available from the Ticket Box Office [Telephone Number removed] or for on-line booking [Link removed]. Adults £12, Children (under 16) £8, Family ticket, (2 Adult & 2 Children) £35. Concessionary price available for groups over 20. Demand for tickets is heavy and early booking is advised. Saturday Show 1 at 2pm & Show 2 at 5.00pm, Sunday Show 3 at 11.00 am & Show 4 at 3.00pm. Doors open one hour before the performance.
.
Geoff Thorpe, promoter of Robot Rumble and ardent Robot enthusiast is available for interviews. For further details and editorial contact Gilly Thomson on [Telephone Number removed] or email to [Email address removed] or Geoff Thorpe on [Telephone Number removed]

When was it on originally? Mid 90s? Guess I would have been about 13 or 14.

The Tube. Although Paula Yates would be hard to replace. She was pretty good in that, before she went completely bonkers.

There should also be a new version of The Old Grey Whistle Test, never seen a whole episode of it myself but I would quite enjoy it by now.

If they can make it as good as the CGI Captain Scarlet, I'd love to see Thunderbirds remade...

I thought the last series of The West Wing was the best as well despite the fact a lot of the characters had moved on. They just needed to keep Josh because he was ace.

Tomorrow's World is to return albeit a scaled down version. I might start watching it properly at last.

Didn't BBC News 24 have a technology showcase program for a while... or was that JUST about the internet?

Its brilliant TV. One of the better things about US tv is that things that would take up a series over here happen in one episode.
