Ultimate Force was a show starring Ross Kemp (Grant Mitchell in Eastenders) in some Army SAS type drama thingy. I just switched on the wrestling video instead.

I saw the trails for it and considered watching it. Ended up not, and I'm not overly fussed.

I thought it was a bit far fetched and probably not very true to life at all like most ITV drama's.

I.e. Sitting round like royalty in a hotel kitchen drinking wine ?!? A helicopter pickin a guy up from his house ?

I'm 25 and I must admit i've never heard of the SAS storming any banks.

Good performance by Ross Kemp although at the end of the episode where they all went off to a party to celebrate killing all the bank robbers also seemed a bit hard to believe seen as one of their team had been killed in the operation !

The program was developed with Chris Ryan who was in teh SAS so I'd imagine it's fairly accurate in most respects - there may well have been some artistic license used but then you'd expect that as it's a dramatisation, not real life.

From what I've read about the SAS in the past the mentality of the guys probably would mean they'd go down the pub after someone got killed - not because they're heartless but because that's how it is.

Anyhoo, it's only a program after all

As for Popstars? I'm no teven going to comment...

..yes I am, * it. Programs like popstars / pop idols etc are nothing but processing plants for pre-processed, trite shit that doesn't even rate as music in most cases - the music industry in this country is in a bad enough state as it is without more of this crap being pumped out...

They say that Pop Idol etc are helping the singles market again. I would tend to disagree. Yes they sell absolute huge numbers at the moment but its suffering the rest of the acts. What point is it competing against Will Young etc when they are never off the TV on reality shows/childrens show/chat shows. August is usually the biggest time apart from Xmas for chart entries. Appleton got to Number 2 in the charts the other week and they sold only 25,000 copies. Atomic Kitten have managed 3 weeks because people arent buying other singles. It seems that every band is scared to compete in the Pop Idol weeks because its an inevitable that they will lose.
