Gaspode_The_Wonder_Dog wrote:Its brilliant TV. One of the better things about US tv is that things that would take up a series over here happen in one episode.

Agreed. Except for Lost - I love the show but they do tend to fanny about with storylines which are too obviously just padding out the series. They could do with making less shows and keeping the pace up. As I believe our moylesy said, you really could watch the "Last time on Lost" part of each episode and you would still be able to follow what was going on.

The Soprano's is excellent and its a shame its finishing, although I think its had its time as well.

Also - Jet2006 - Noels House Party needs to return asap.

Is this a fact? Im well up for a bit of tomorrows world.

Gaspode et all - im watching the full west series on more four and its one of the best series ive ever seen on tv. Well worth a watch.

There is actually some good american TV on UK screens at the moment, CSI, NCIS (like CSI but in a military setting really), My Name Is Earl,
watched a bit of Ugly Betty and that was OK, it had Ashley Jansen from Extras in it too. Most of the GOOD US stuff seems to get snapped up by channels 4 and 5, especially now that 5 can show them on it's 5US freeview channel.

mmm, ive complained about this before. They have pretty much stolen the format and are doing the same show. Not good enough, im wanting noel, his crinkly bottom and a grand house. Some gunge wouldnt go amiss either.

True. BBC1 and ITV1 rarely buy any US shows as they have a commitment to UK made stuff. BBC2 has gone off the boil in recent years for US stuff though. Anything good or remotly interesting is given a couple of weeks at Primetime then shoved into a latenight slot - Arrested Development/Family Guy/American Dad for example.

Ugly Betty was ok, watchable but not worth all of the hype it's gotten so far. Plus it suffered from Cinema-Syndrome - ie any half decent jokes were shown in the trailers.

Can't wait for My Name is Earl S2 though - although rumour has it it wont be on until August as they have cleared the schedules on Fridays for Ugly Betty

I know it's not a programme but the legendary Saturday morning slot currently occupied by TMI should be brought back to BBC One.

or Swap Shp hosted by Chris Moyles, Fearne Cotton and Venron Kay. A Late Saturday Night version with Indie bands and celebrity guests. Plus adult swapping. I think it could work.

Venron Kay is Vernon's evil twin from Norwich.

A good idea, but that presenting combo is a match made in hell

Well we could just match up the people who were on Swap Shop to their modern equivilant:

Noel Edmunds= Chris Moyles
John Craven= Lizo from NR
Fit Woman= ?

I'd like to see The Generation Game back on but with Dale Winton as the host, he would be terrific at it.
