Radio 1 Changes

A major overhaul of Radio 1's schedules is thought to be planned in a bid to reverse the national station's declining audiences.

Rumours indicate that Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt has made approaches to XFM presenter Christian O'Connell about taking over the afternoon drivetime slot currently presented by Chris Moyles.

BBC Radio 1 Breakfast DJ Sara Cox is to continue presenting the station's flagship breakfast show under a deal tying her to the programme for the next three years.

Says 3 years on the breakfast show..

heard a few bootlegs in my time from Xfm. I agree- Top Station. Zoe Ball is great.

Ad, I think he was highlighting the fact that it was three years on breakfsat rather than moving to another show, which was mentioned elsewhere.

It has been said by me numerous times that Christian O'Connell is superb, also another XFM DJ Zane Lowe would be brilliant as the 'New' Lamacq, personally i think he conducts the best music interviews hence being given the biggest interview of the year on MTV(Eminem)

Xfm is one of the few stations I'm going to start listening to regularly when I get ADSL. I still thankfully won't have reason to tune into Cox, who shouldn't even be allowed in a voxpops segment. - jc
