Like with sept 11 and the sobham girls this isn't the place for a book of condoloence.

Try signing the yahoo one or somehting.

It's not that i'm heartless - i feel for the parents but a least they can have closure....

just read it on reuters. don't knoiw why people are saying "its a terrible shame" now - how many of you honestly thought she'd still be alive after no sighting for 6 months.

dont meant to sound heartless, but i thought she was dead after 2 months with no sight

Haven't read the reports yet, but can work it out from the posts - as Mr Hoare says, at least now her parents know- better than not knowing.

As for this forum not being a book of condolence, if people want to talk about these sort of things, let them - after all, it's a public forum, and there's nothing wrong with public debate about the attrocities that occur in this world, be it the murder of a child or the slaughter of thousands of people in the middle East - ok, this forum isn't a book of condolence but if people want to discuss these issues, let them.

Pond Life - please don't start a personal argument with Morals in a thread which covers quite a sensitive topic.

I'm sure your maturity in doing this would be very much appreciated.

It is too, but i suggest you sign an offical book of condolence...

Terrible as it is, these thigns happen in society and for the publicity these sickos and shameless opportunists who seek attention (after the sobham murders some sick * in exeter tried to snatch a few kiddies). Sad though it is that the parents must have been going through absolute hell, but once a week or two weeks had past then they know that they are often dead.

It's a cruel world and sometimes it makes me think if i want to bring up kids in it

I apologise if anyone finds this inappropriate / offensive under the circumstances, but I was wondering....

When was the last time a child in the UK has been missing for a reasonable amount of time (about a month), the media have got involved, and the child has been found alive?

i actualy know about this. a girl by the name of gemma lawrence was abducted in around 1989, whilst on holiday in weymouth or somewhere. I only know of this because she was the daughter of a stock car driver

although it is sad that the girls is dead, its a good thing that her remains have been found as it enables the family to obtain some sort of closure over the whole event.
