Ok, so I've been off of this forum for a while now - first it started out because I had trouble with the internet and then with my workload at uni I had less time to listen to Moyles and come on here. However now I have a relatively work free holiday I decided to come on here properly and chat about the show - except now this place is dull - really dull.

It seems to me that this place is become Unofficial Mills but without Jono's iron fist - topics like Dear Diary and the Zoot's Bar drinking thread seem to have been ripped straight from Ema's (of UM fame) brain. Like I've mentioned elsewhere it probably is nicer on here now and that is not necessarily a bad thing - it's just f**king dull. I remember when I used to check every new post made, now I check about 2 a day because the rest look so boring - then again maybe that is how it looked to outsiders when most of the people in this section were in their posting prime.

I'm not saying the site is any better or worse than it was before but it does seem like a lot of the people in here don't visit much or post much anymore and I wondered what your thoughts were on this - especially since this section hasn't had much talk about the site recently.

I too used to read every post (or pretty much every post), but I'm currently skipping entire topics. I have no idea what the 'Zoots bar' thread is about and the 'Dear Diary' thread just sounds like drivel. I just read the 'Destination Unknown ! :-)' thread and it actually starts with the words 'Another crap thread'; if it's so crap, why make a thread out of it (NB: I don't know what the thread is actually about as I didn't bother reading on after that).

I've never really been to the Mills site so I can't really comment on if this place is slowly turning into it or not, but it does seem to be becoming more like Aled's site, with (and no offence to Aled on this) just utterly pointless threads like 'Nooooo! we dont want snow!!! Lol' and 'Word association game'.

It may be a 'nicer' place at present, but I agree that it is quite dull at the moment.

I agree actually, I don't post all that much myself, but I used to read everything too, but like you've both said, I'm skipping threads all the time now.

Plus, does anyone else have an unusual dislike for footloose? I don't know what it is about him, but whenever I read his posts I just want to tell him to shut up. I mean there are a few others who bug me too, but when I see its them who've made the topic i sort of just ignore it.

at the moment the forum is basically being kept going almost by bag of balls, footloose, yudster and rather oddly viv. viv has been doing some rather weak unamusing threads seemingly for the sake of it and the you get people like demonhorse and that sort of dweeb replying in the topic and it becomes a love fest. there was a stage where that viv hated this site and would be rather scared to post, now shes one of the top posters at the moment. the problem is i cant be arsed to be horrible to her.

i blame that gaspode fella. ever since hes seen my cardigan hes not been nasty to anyone.

I can't believe Viv is supposed to be in her 30s - she seems much much younger - school age even.

Bag for Balls has grown on me (not literally you understand) and I think he's alright and in a weird way, quite amusing. I also quite like Yudster. It's the pinkysibbs and the Vivs that make it UM-like.

I didn't want this to be a bitching session - just a discussion of the site. The suggestion you put forward is indeed simple but in practice it will not work properly as even if we did start posting new topics like the old days it would either descend into an "omg lol"fest (ok, I know these new guys don't use txt speak but you know what I mean) or they would complain that they don't know what the * we were on about - which was the problem to outsiders before and is the problem for us trying to get back in now.
