Just think what David Beckham or Chris Martin might call their kids... and eliminate those names straight away and go for something else.

Congratulations Pinky, well done. I've used all my favourite names for my kids, but you are welcome to borrow any of them - I'll PM you though because otherwise it would be weird!

A complete shock? Don't you know what causes it?? ;-)

I'm kidding. Congrats Pinky. It's very early to be announcing it yet!

My favourite names are Ruby (my middle name) and Lily (my late grandmother's name, and the name I gave to the baby I lost) for girls. I dunno for boys. Boys' names just aren't as pretty!

why would anyone want to ruin their lives and have kids?
By Ballbag

Is that two mutually exclusive things there? Like ruin your life by, let's say commiting a murder and getting banged up for life? And then have some kids with a jail warden?

Yeah that is pretty silly.

good old mutually exclusives.

to commit a murder would be silly yes, and then to go even more demented and have an illigitamate love child would be simply INSANE in the membrane.

ooh, harsh words there Quincy. I too am childfree by choice but I wouldn't have said it quite so bluntly to a newly expectant parent!

im not trying to offend her. i just cannot understand why people want to have kids. they are such a pain. they stink, they cry, they take all your money, you have to get up in the middle of the night to feed them and wipe their arses, and what for?

For the joy and happiness, and unquestioning love, loyalty and friendship which you and your child will share.

And if you believe that you haven't met my Mum !

I think it's a thing which is somehow primevil and ingrained in most of us to want to procreate, in our modern selfish worlds we can rationalise this away. Most of all though I think when you meet someone, it kind of passes a few years and gives you something to talk about at Dinner.

And they only smell and cry and take your money for baout 30 years anyway

Hahaha Mincy, you're such a miserable old man. I'm sure that what you've described is all you get from babies. (they don't stay babies for ever by the way)

I do agree and that's why I've been sterilised - to make sure I don't end up in that situation. But you have to appreciate that we're in the minority in having that opinion.
