that's a good question..... when my friend from my school days was strangled years ago, it wound up on the news, yet a lot of similar killings, crimes, etc. simply don't !

There aren't enough column inches, unfortunately, but you are right in the sense that why should this get more coverage than another missing person case.

i was moaning about that fact earlier. i think it's because this is a "good family" with a cute white kid that the press jumped on it. maybe the british press isn't as bad as the american press, but there's the whole missing white woman syndrome.

it might be a bigger deal in america. usually when there's a missing white woman hyped on cable news, there's a small backlash and a couple of other missing persons cases are dredged up after the fact.

Its usually a summer thing when Parliament is away and they are desperate for any news so stories get blown up.

If she's been sold then there's obviously still a chance to find her. That's why there's being such a big thing about the mark in her eye to identify her.
