Does anyone else watch Coronation Street? The storyline today is completely insensitive to the current news. Ashley and Claire's baby has been abducted from his bedroom and is now missing! With the current situation in Portugal I can't believe they ran with this story!

Umm, you miss the point entirely, thats the actual changed storyline, its called toning it down. I just read it somewhere, they've changed it.

The real question you should be asking is - When will Kate Thornton take a hint, as in - When will she realise shes plastic and fake, being sacked means you're not interesting.

You know this thread strikes a nerve with me I was just thinking someone would proclaim doomsday over a soap opera. Have you asked the McCanns if they actually watch it? No, no thought not.

I think the nipper being found in the park was a better alternative than leaving the poor sod to the hands of gravity!

Very true honey! Was that the original storyline then?

I hardly think it is sensitive to any abductions that have happened in the history of time, then just the one that is all over the media right now.

Soaps are recorded so far in advance, it must be almost impossible to cut a particular storyline out. With series and things that have a different story each time you can ditch an episode without too much problem, but this is slightly different. Although the most ideal thing to do would be to drop the whole programme altogether.

Well there used to be Jodi Albert and Gemma Atkinson, but since they left, the ladies-factor ain't half as good.

Agreed Mr Ed....... when the hang over was well and truly kicking in on Sunday I was forced to watch the omnibus, and I can safely say there are NO fit ladies in it anymore. There aint been any since Izzy left.

And now, Eastenders has given itself a much needed bit of p-p-pp-p-pppppublicity, by axeing a kiddy snatch storyline.

Tell you what, lets switch telly off altogether just incase theres any danger of raising awareness about such kidnap scenarios, we dont want to learn anything, that would be atrocious, if I wasn't typing I'd cover my eyes just incase anyone mentions any other similar child kidnap story, fictuous or not.

We take telly seriously, end of, yet it is through telly we learn of such event in first place. But credit to the hapless Eastenders bosses, they've turned the situation to their advantage, its like Shilpa in a way, except not as big, and Shilpa is still alive..and well.
