Don't give 'em your name Pike! Quaility comedy from a bygone age!

Am gonna take a sneaky peek later when i have done a bit of work towards my motivational training meeting planned for next week. Any ideas how i can incorporate old tv comedy titles into "how to motivate a bunch of lazy miserable gits into performing the job they are paid to do"?
All suggestions considered!

The episode that is on there is class - its where the army wants Walker to go and sign up but Mannering wants to keep him in the Home Guard coz he gets them whisky and fags.

Mannering goes off to see someone in the army who, coincidently, is looking for people to sign up for a walk or summit that they are doing. Cue the convo:

Sergeant: "Whats this walkers name?"
Mannering: "em, Walker, sir."
"you mean to say you have a walker named Walker?"
"Yes sir."
"Thats unusual eh?"

"Is he one of the London to Brighton walkers?"
"No sir, I think he is one of the Warbington-On-Sea Walkers."
"Sea walkers?"
"No J. Walker sir."
"Jay Walker?"
"No, his name is Joe Walker."
"How do you know he is a walker?"
"Because he distinctly said 'I'm Walker'."
"Surely he said 'I'm a walker'?"
"No no sir, not A Walker, he said 'I'm J Walker'."

Eddie Izzard has never quite done it for me, he does make me laugh sometimes but i'm still waiting to be sold on him.

His newer stuff isn't so great, where he tries to get more political and historical etc, but his older stuff is fantastic, where he talks about supermarkets and Dog-food, and hair nets, and cats drilling for oil...

Thats fine, whatever radio comedy, it cant be too bad.

I just dont wanna ever hear the words "Brand new comedy from BBC3!" ever again, its terrifying. Nearly as terrifying as the fact 2 pints of lager has been repeated 60 times now, seriously.

People who're over bright and motivational in the office scare me. Have you worked out yet how to get the "lazy gits" to do some work yet nickynoo?

Not according to Misconceptions About Dad's Army:
I have lost count of the times that I have read journalists and fans alike state our favourite platoon comes from Warminster or Warminster-on-Sea. It is of course Walmington. In reality, Warminster is a town in Wiltshire, England, and is nowhere near the sea. Though set on the Kent coast, Walmington is fictional, and the place only exists on TV (and in our hearts). Another place that is often confused with 'our' town is Wilmington. There are two Wilmington's in Britain, one in East Essex, and the other, like Walmington, is actually in Kent. It is however nowhere near the coast, and is very close to London.

Also Wikipedia:
The show was set in the fictional seaside town of Walmington-on-Sea, on the South Coast of England.

It sounds like warbington.

I really don't care though - its all about the comedy, not the spelling!

Dad's Army, like much vintage comedy, had its magical moments and was undoubtedly brilliantly written - but I can't sit through an episode now, I find it dated and boring.

Also back to Eddie Izzard, I got all his stand ups for £12 a month ago and been watching them and I admit he is obviously funny, but I just don't seem to find it that funny myself. Except for the bit about Altar boy and Jesus discs, that was funny.

Would that be from Fopp?
I got them myself.

See, I thought about bringing that up as well, but I didn't in the end. Too much pedantry for me for one day.
