What colours are you most attracted to? I like purples, blues and white.

White is supposed to attract your guardian angel around you. Read that in a book. Yesterday evening tho', when I was thrown off public transport, I was wearing white, so I'm assuming my guardian must have been on holiday, or lying drunk in a gutter somewhere. :?

Or, you could assume that the idea of a guardian angel is silly, and even if it wasn't, why would they give a toss what colour you were wearing?!

I always seem to be attracted to reds and pinks. My wardrobe trademark is that I always wear red shoes.

I don't think it's silly... why are people always dismissive of things that aren't in front of their nose.

Because it's clearly a fantasy.

Why are some people so eager, almost desperate, to believe in something greater than what they already have, with no evidence what-so-ever and usually with evidence to the contrary?

desperate is never a word I would apply to myself.

I said 'almost desperate', and I also said 'some people', but it was a nice way to completely avoid the question. Well done.

Because it explains things simply and easily.

It makes sense why thousands of years ago we end up inventing various religions to give an explanation to things that we didn't understand:

Why does it get dark and light and why does it do it at the same time every day, but different times throughout the day?
What is the wind?
What is the rain?
Where do these things come from?
Whats the sun and the moon?
How do they move?

Thing is we have answered just about every question that religion used to explain for us except the big two:

What was here before the big bang and what happens when you die?

Thats why I think people still cling to a religion - coz it can easily answer questions that they maybe don't know the answer to or perhaps give them hope in some manner.

A few of my friends are quite religious and I do sometimes find myself quite jealous that I don't share their beliefs. Sometimes, I think it would make life a lot easier to deal with.

I was at a friends funeral a few years ago, a young guy that was killed in a car crash. It was pretty upsetting all in all but I was kinda glad that the family seemed to find some comfort from the funeral and the mass that went with it. From an outsiders point of view, it sorta came across that it was almost like a ready made guide book about what to do in this situation. I would imagine that because of the guidelines already in place, it would give the family a lot less to think about and let them just grieve.

Religion is something that intrests me quite a bit, mainly cos I don't understand how anyone can have so much faith in something. That may say more about me than anything else though.

Actually, I just live in this world, you should try it sometime.

Actually, religion doesn't answer any question about the Big Bang, and unless you're religious the answer to the question about what happens after death is simple, nothing; you're dead.

Some do say the ignorance is bliss, but I, personally, would rather have my eyes open than have them shut tight, with my fingers in my ears shouting nah-ne-nah-ne-nah-nah.

Religion is fascinating, some of the mythology behind it is incredible. It is odd though, the more I learn about the various religions the less I understand how anyone could choose to believe in any one of them; what makes the one they chose correct?
