Basically for anyone that wants to actually avoid a certain TV show...

Just unveiled today by Microsoft... Surface.

and a nice demo vid here

Looks pretty awesome to me, but then I'm a geek and have been following stuff to do with multi-touchscreens for a while.

Jk and Joel said a good thing last night about if your partner is obsessed with BB and you want to avoid it, get stuck in to a DVD boxset...
I'm still going through my Futurama boxsets, I'll be very sad when I've finished them

I'm going through my Only Fools boxset, but I've nearly finished it, I timed it wrong, should have started it later.

I don't want to sound like Big Mamma Ballbag here, but there are ways to entertain yourselves other than TV. Pick up a book, learn an instrument, do a cross word, fiddle your diddle?

I do other things as well Mr Bag of Balls, in fact I don't watch TV that often, as I'm not in. But when I do watch it, it'll have to be a DVD at the moment, except for when Mrs Topher is around.

Zoot - I hear ya on the boxset thing.

I have the second series of Life on Mars to get through (NO spoilers please!).

I also have various Family Guy disks to watch.

I've not, a mate has it on disk so I feel that may be getting stolen at some point.

The problem with American Dad and Family Guy are the times that they are shown on BBC2.

I didn't even realize they were being shown on BBC2

It was at something like 0030 on a Monday morning.

And it changed depending on what else was happening.

I knew I had saved watching all of Heroes for a reason.

That should manage to cover some of the time of Big Brother.

Does anyone else have that moment when their friends start to talk about Big Brother and you have to be slightly rude and just tell them straight that you're not interested in the terrible programme?

No because only really my other half likes it, none of my other friends really do.

Is Heroes coming to the BBC soon? I know it is at some point and I want to watch it on TV rather than download it, as I'm old fashioned like that (and I am low on HD space as it is.)

I just kind of Glaze over and start talking about Battlestar Galactica.
That works

I wouldn't have noticed - its one of the BBC's most annoying their features - they change programmes about the schedules and they dont always do it the same in each region.

For example - i'm a big Have I Got News For You fan, but I notice that its on Saturday night rather than Friday this week. That may just be in Scotland though. There was no announcement after last weeks programme either.

Is Have I Got News For You regularly longer now, or do they occasionally have a feature length one? The one I saw last week was 50 minutes! It's still funny though, I just never really get to watch it.

Nah, they do an extended version of the Friday night show on a Saturday with some "outtakes" left in.

Its funnier in my opinion.

Its also on this Sunday rather than Saturday. Damn BBC.

I've just started Heroes on the internet, and this is the exact sort of show that I was born to watch - whatever that means. I'm also almost finished the "House" series 1 boxset - well worth a watch if you've never seen it

Lots of people in my office watch and talk about BB so it becomes very difficult to avoid. Thankfully my housemate doesn't watch it either so our flat can remain a BB-free zone. Dunno what I can watch instead tho; I don't really have any box sets unwatched. I do have a lot of dvds with extras I've never bothered to watch so maybe I should start ploughing thru some of those.

I may have said this on here already, I cant remember.

I cant quite get into Heros. I've watched prob about 3/4 of whats been recorded on the Sky+ but im still waiting to get hooked on it.

I don't know why, I would usually like this sorta thing. Plus everyone has been going on about how good it is.
