What would we have been doing 10 years ago to pass the dull drudgery ?

Is the internet a tool to improve efficiency, or is the lure of "leisure" at work actually contributing to a reduction in National Output ?

Now this is easy. I don't go on here at work as a rule! I'm too busy working. I am however v amused by the ability to distract all of you from working on my day off

I wasn't working 10 years ago so I don't know.

Ten years ago I had graduated but was in the middle of a long spell of surgery and so wasn't working. My day used to take roughly this form:
9am - awake, take painkillers and await their effectiveness
9.30am - get up, make cup of tea, lie on sofa
10am - district nurse visits, dressings cleaned and changed
10.30am - Richard & Judy
12noon - news, make cup of tea and lunch
1pm - Light Lunch
2pm - Mark & Lard (usually a short nap somewhere in the middle)
4pm - Fifteen To One, cup of tea and biscuit
4.30pm - Countdown
5pm - parents and brother arrive home
5.30pm - tea
6.30pm - possibly get dressed for an exciting excursion to a relative's house or the supermarket
8pm - watch whatever rubbish my dad is watching, probably an ITV game show or drama
10pm - painkillers and bed

I would have been revising or taking mock exams at this point in 97.

Well i was 6 so before the internet i was on the streets playing acky traky, hide and seek, curby, roller blading, bike riding the usual kid stuff.

So let's change the subject although I now have to take back my earlier comment that I don't go online when I'm at work as that's what I'm up to now. Can't seem to concentrate on anything.

9 till 11.30 - work
11.30 - 11.35 fag
11.35 - 1.00 work
1.00 - 2.00 lunch
2.00 3.30 work
3.30 cup of tea
3.35 - Fag
3.40 - 5.00 work
5.00 Home/Pub

Friday lunch was at the Pub, Chips and curry Sauce & a couple of pints.

We used to have to complete time sheets and bill people for 48 x 10 minute units a day. nightmare
