Do you have any little rituals that you carry out? I'm not necessarily talking about OCD-type things (that's a whole other thread in itself), altho they could be included.

Mine include: High Heels Friday - I always wear high heeld shoes to work on a Friday. Today I am wearing 4" platform ones, here is a pic:



Also when I work saturday mornings I always buy a venti coffee (I usually have grande), a cake and a copy of the Guardian on my way in. I don't usually buy a paper any other time. I'm sure I have loads more I just can't think of right now.

That I am aware of I don't have any 'rituals' except for OCD type things. I may have mentioned these before, but they are: all the notes in my wallet have to be in order of denomination (largest amount at the back) and facing forward (that is, the Queen's head facing forward); the volume control on the telly, car radio, or anything else with a numbered volume control must be on an even number (I think someone else also mentioned this). I can't think of any others right now.

My flatmate has the even number volume thing too - another thing you and he share in common!

I also have some even number OCD type things. Also, I find our booking reference numbers somewhat unsettling when they are six separate digits - ie, 954202 would be okay, 954203 not so much. I have no idea why.

I don't do superstition - although I can see that's not necessarily what these rituals - OCD or otherwise - are. I am trying to think, but I genuinely don't think I have anything like this - unless you count the fact that I only ever wear red shoes. But thats just because I like red shoes!

My daughter and i have a little ritual where we make a magic circle that always has to be surrounded by different coloured blocks and contains 3 different leaves of different plants and trees. We then wish for random things. I don't think thats superstition though, just fun. For other rituals, you could easily confuse them with routine, like we always make pakoras on a sunday and things like that.
