Okay, so I stole this from a thread on another forum I use. Post ten things about yourself that others may not know, and may (or may not!) be interested to learn.

here are my ten.

1. I've been vegetarian since I was 16, which is almost 17 yrs, and a vegan for the last eight.

2. I was born with a dislocated hip. I've had eight operations. I now have a metal plate holding my left femur together, and only 80 degrees bend in my left knee. Also some great scars.

3. I've been working in theatre for eight years now and altho it's okay, it's not a career choice. I'd like to be doing a phD but I just can't get any funding.

4. I'm childfree by choice and had a sterilisation a couple years ago. But I'm in the process of donating my eggs. Just waiting on some test results before I can start the drugs. Very excited about it.

5. I have two pet rats, Gilligan and Gabriel. Had lots of pets over the years but I really love rats.

6. I like to bake. Vegan baking is a challenge but I can make some great cakes now.

7. I am paranoid about looking old and spend a fortune on moisturisers, sunscreen etc. I never leave the house without spf15 minimum on my face.

8. I have six piercings and eleven tattoos. Still want more tats.

9. I only date younger men. Eight to ten years younger than me is my ideal.

10. I'm claustrophobic. I can't stand being in a building with no visible escape route. When I see people underwater or in enclosed spaces like caves on TV, my chest gets tight and I can't breathe properly. Even if it's just a cartoon.

  1. I have a phobia of wasps (since the two before me have gone with phobias as well). I also don't like bees and generally flying bugs, but wasps are the main thing.
  2. I'm not as argumentative in real life as I can be on here; in fact I hate arguing to the point where I will go a long long way out of my way to avoid it. I don't know why I can be on here, I think it may be a letting off steam thing.
  3. I play league standard table tennis and Mrs Topher plays county / British League standard.
  4. I can be a bit clingy and I don't like myself for it.
  5. I can also be paranoid and I don't like myself for that either. Both are traits I get from my dad, which scares me slightly.
  6. Contrary to (now) popular belief on here, I don't generally go for younger girls; Mrs Topher is six monts older than me.
  7. I can't wait to get my own mortgage; it'll be a struggle but I'm really looking forward to having a place of my (our) own. Mortgage advisor appointment on Monday!
  8. I have family in Canada, Alberta to be precise, close to the BC border. The village some of them live in is called (wait for it) Beaverlodge.
  9. My maternal Granny died of cancer when I was three (she didn't smoke). My earliest memories are of pushing a wheelchair around Central Milton Keynes shopping centre and also of playing with her glasses, which she left me in her will. My Grandad married again to another woman who also died of cancer. The woman he subsequently married, no one likes! He gives talks to people for a nominal fee, which he donates to Marie Curie. He's raised nearly £10,000 in three years.
  10. I recently bought a MegaDrive, which I would have any day over an Xbox. The Wii looks fun though.

1. I bumped into Jimmy Saville twice in a week, once in London, once in Leeds. I got his autograph on both occasions.
2. I once won a county poetry competition.
3. I have a hole in my thigh muscle, completely unexplained.
4. I am still the school 400m record holder, 12 years on.
5. I have two cats, Elton and Lionel, Elton caught a shrew last night.
6. I was pinned to a wall by two guys with actual machine guns once, and for the first and only time in my life I actually thought I would wee myself.....I didn't though....... honest I didn't.
7. I'm sexy.
8. My car once exploded into flames completely closing the M42 for three hours.
9. I am not ticklish.
10. I'm bad a making lists of ten.

1. I have had many pets over the years, and am currently stressing about the uber-reproductive qualities of my tropical Mollies.
2. In the second half of the eighties I was landlady of a small pub and restaurant in London EC1 called The Betsey. This place has since become a music venue, and is where Keane were spotted and signed.

4. If I don't swim in the sea regularly - or at least paddle - my stress levels reach a point where I fear I may explode.
5. I have never been to Scotland. I wish to rectify this.
6. One of my bothers-in-law is an award winning chef and he cooked the meal which was eaten by Katie Price and Peter Andre on their first "official" date.
7. I totally completely and absolutely loathe Lladro ornaments.
8. My lifetime aspiration is to move to a smallholding in Devon and produce as much of my own food as possible. Huge Furry-Whippingtool is my hero.
9. I am pro-life, but not anti-abortion.
10. Although it is not what I do now, and hasn't been for a long time, I am a qualified Medical Haematologist. Before you ask, the answer is beacuse the money is crap.

I used to work quite close to there (Oliver's Yard, which is just off Old Street.)

I know it. Its a lovely corner of London, isn't it? I was really happy living there.

You'd like this - my next door neighbour pointed out that I had a wasps nest in my apple tree in the back garden. The council wanted £46 to come a get rid of it which I think is a rip-off, so I had to do it myself! Didn't get stung once, although the queen scared me when she popped out to complain.

You know Oliver's Yard? Blimey! Yeah, I really enjoyed working there, nice company as well. I didn't enjoy the getting up at 5.30 every morning, biking 8 miles to Central Milton Keynes railway station, getting a train with my £335 a month train ticket and then getting the tube to Old Street, only to do the whole thing in reverse and not get home until 8.30-9 at night though.

Ha, I would pay the £46! Did you find out if wasps have a use in the end? I remember you were going to ask someone who knows about these things.

  1. I go running every morning between about 5:30 and 6:30 (not that I run for a full hour though, I'm not in that good shape yet) and the occasional night.
  2. I read one or two books a week (they're been mostly Discworld novels lately).
  3. I'm asthmatic, and have been since about the age of 14 (which can make number one on this list a bit of a pain in the arse).
  4. I don't believe in God(s), magic or anything supernatural (which isn't a rarely known fact), but I would like to be able to believe in them (I would actually like them to be true, but that's impossible).
  5. My only fear (as far as I'm aware) is of asphyxiation, possibly due to a childhood experience involving really inflamed tonsils and no gap in between them.
  6. I have had my tonsils out.
  7. I don't like charging people money when I do work for them.
  8. I am currently writing a book about a secret organisation that keeps balance on the planet (not as good as it sounds; not yet anyway).
  9. I won my XBox 360 in a competition that involved me singing.
  10. I really can't think of a tenth. I struggled thinking of the last four.

I think Gaspode needs to re-do his list. Numbers 2, 8 and 10 are almost the same fact.

Also I think I got a bit serious with mine.

Can I add that I have met Noel Edmund and Chris De Burgh and sung Silent Night in Russian with them and Father Christmas in a hall in Minsk in the middle of September.

I had no trouble thinking of ten at all. Obviously way too self-absorbed.

Yes, yes you can. Thank you. Although if you were in the same room as Chris de Burgh and refrained from killing him, I'm not sure I will be able to forgive you for that.

Ooooft, up close and personal this, aint it!

Ok, lets see...

1. I have no phobias that I know of. I am a bit concerned of drowning though, after reading a description of it in a Dan Brown book. I also agree with Console on the religion thing. Especially the part about wanting to understand it.

2. I race cars in a thing called autotesting. For more info about that, see here. My dad was near as damnit british champion at it a few years ago. I would like to beat him, but never will.

3. My dog is called Hollie. She is about 143 years old but still thinks she is a pup. This proves to be a problem when she tries to run and her legs dont let her.

4. The word "foot-loose" in my sig is a font which you will all recognise. Can anyone guess it? I chose "foot-loose" as my name coz I like the song and not cos I am "into" feet as was once suggested to me.

5. I have not been abroad in roughly seven years. I am hoping to sort that soon.

6. I, like Catherine, have also never had a proper serious relationship. However, I am about 10 years older than her. I don't like this and again, I am hoping to sort this soon.

7. When I go away on "holiday" I go up north to see my aunt. She lives right up the top of Scotland. I stay in a wee cottage place and can see Orkney from the window.

8. I play the drums. I won the award for playing the drums in the school for seven or eight years. I have hardly played since I left and I don't like that.

9. I have a very broad music taste. For example, on now is Reef, next its Bach then the instrumental theme tune to Max and Parrys road to nowhere. I also have a collection of roughly a thousand tv theme tunes. I have no idea why. However, I do tend to guess each of the themes that moyles plays in the ramble.

10. I once swerved to avoid a fox on an icy road. I battered the car into a boulder on the verge. Total repairs to the car (inc a new radiator) came to about £240. A week later, I was travelling up north and about 10 miles south of Inverness, and at about 0130 a rather large hare ran out in front of me. The hare ended up pretty deceased pretty quickly and I felt quite bad about that. I didnt feel so sorry for the said hare when we stopped in Inverness and realised that it had burst my new radiator. A night in a hotel, a bottle of vodka and another £180 for a new radiator. Wonderful.

I've tried to be random with my list, and tried not to mention something I have mentioned before on this forum (unsuccesful on #5 tho')

1. The most amazing piece of art I've ever seen is Seurats painting 'A Sunday on La Grande Jatte' which filled me with awe (as seen in Ferris Buellers Day Off)
2. I went to the same school as Ian Botham

4. I left school at 15. (had to go to college years later tho'... wish I'd stayed at school!)

6. As a child I travelled around a lot of Europe in a Scania 140 pulling a reefer unit.
