Bit of a random one, but was wondering if any of you ever had stuff in your mind that you simply just don't say (for whatever reason). Any strong opinions of any kind? (please don't direct them my way!!).

I would like to know, for example, WHY people are allowed cigarette breaks? Why, in life, is this considered NECESSARY at work, when it just plain isn't. Why, for example, am I not allowed out to munch my way through vast quantities of chocolate ?

Who is stopping you from eating these vast ammounts of chocolate then viv.

no-one is... my point is... if people are allowed ciggie breaks, surely I too (or anyone else) should be allowed an equal amount of breaks.

Honestly Viv........ are you permantly drunk? What are you on about?

If you're having "issues" with smokers taking breaks, then get up when they get up and go for a coffee, or a glass of water, or a general potter............. failing that if it still annoys you then bring it up with management..........if you don't want to do that then just stay sat and get over it. Is there another point I am meant to get?

no, I am not drunk, and push this much further, and you'll be getting a cyber slap. I'm asking for OPINIONS in general, balls, OK. It's really perfectly simple.

If it's opinions you're after, I agree with Bag for balls.

I've always wondered why 'some people' arbitrarily capitalise whole words in the middles of a sentence.

this is hopeless... I need people with some sense to answer this thread... my "general section" topic has been vandalised this morning, now this one is heading the same way.

Be fair, you asked for opinions, and then as an example of what to give, you asked a question. It's hardly a good start is it?

So implying that some people have no sense, while you yourself wasn't making any, is you being fair?

in my world, everything makes sense. You are just trying to make a fool of me, by being pedantic (and silly)... but no changes from any other day.

Ok, viv..... forgive me...... but it's not perfectly simple. Here we find ourselves in Viv world....once again you create a thread title that has no relevance to it's subject matter..... quite often it doesn't make any sense at all. You then fill the first post with a load of old rollocks, usually containing some trivial example of something very normal to the rest of us that may or may not cause you problems. Contained in said post is usually a number of smileys and the odd word in CAPITAL LETTERS for effect.

Quite often the post neither poses a question, nor stimulates debate.... rather it usually confuses people and makes no sense, and when we do ask what you're on about you adopt the "you work it out" method of explanation.

In short Viv........ and once again......... what are you on about?

In response to your example 'opinion/question', I didn't actually know people still took (specific) cigarette breaks. When people have nothing to do they fill their time with whatever they want to do, be it smoking a cigarette, going to the loo, having a cup of tea, eating some chocolate or whatever. Is this the 'break' you're talking about or does your workplace offer a cigarette-specific break for smokers? If so that I would suggest talking to your superiors about getting some sort of general snack break, or abolishing this cigarette break (especially since smoking at work is now against the law).
