Brilliant. Quite a surprising story, 100% true aswell.

Got told about this recently, a friend of mine boarded the plane for her return journey from holidays, finds her seat which always has been and always will be -by the AISLE, not the window, but theres a woman sat in her seat!

Then, Mathew Corbett says "Oh, you're sat HERE" and points to the window seat next to him. Then she goes "No, I'm not" Mathew again says "No no, come on you're sat here" Again trying to usher her to the window seat, as he was in the middle, whats happened you see is the woman hes with has sneakily tried to take her seat by the aisle and has got her head buried in a magazine sneakily minding her own, thinking this person I know is a pushover..Hmm....

"NO, I think you'll find I'm NOT sat by the window" Mathew had been on the red wines, was being generally rude during the flight, leaving the overhead baggage compartment open etc.

I remember him as the goody-two-shoes bloke who had his hand stuffed up a few puppets, Sooty to name but one. And yet here he was on a cheapo economy flight being all obnoxious and full of himself, just cos hes got a bit of fame, but its all dried up now, apart from the wine.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned SOR but Maggie's first official word is Daddy. The one in your sig is only the first to be overheard by her family

Shall correct that, but I must say I never enjoyed sitting through most the credits unlike other films, you could see who played who.

All the japanese names / chinese names had us laughing.

We did the same at the Kill Bill movies, although I think that was meant to be serious.

The music was brilliant, I think Groenings wasted in cartooning, and all that Futurama stuff hes so hooked on, thats what I like about The Simpsons, its constantly having to live up to itself, so always puts in hidden extras, it was out the window and off the scale.

What do you think he should do instead, if not cartooning (He has less input than you probably think in The Simpsons and Futurama FYI - yes he approves character design etc, but the majority of the funnies come from the writers room)

I think hes a creative genius, if he can make slapstick work effortlessly in cartoon, imagine what he could do to the current crop of lacklustre 'funnies' that are engulfing the rom-com, teenage sort of genre. Its anyones guess how he might go about that, but he should direct for sure. Do something with the old writers he brought back for the feature length Simpsons.

Hmm, well, thats some pretty big boots to fill so I will reserve judgement till i've seen it again. (and again and again etc)

There are a lot of little things that i'm surprised I noticed, this leads me to think that there are prob a whole load of things i never saw.

I'm not quite sure how, and I'm not going to ask, but I seem to have access to The Simpsons Movie on DVD, so I can watch it in the confort of my own living room, scrunch my popcorn if I like and not have it blasting my ears to oblivion like they do in the cinema. I am excited.

thats what I meant, didn't mean in terms of actual quality and comedy value, though I suspect the Simpsons Movie would also be close to Airplane on this.

This is true. Perhaps I should put a comprehensive list here of all my criminal activities. Just to confirm my dullness.

I once was party to the buying of illegal petrol at the roadside and had to drive off when someone saw the Police coming.

Rock and Roll.
