Not long now (27 days I believe) and I'm very excited. Obviously I will be supporting Wales and will then switch teams if/when we get knocked out. Are there any other rugby fans on here? Who will you be supporting and will anyone be going to any of the games?

Oh and by the way isn't the new England kit awful!?

The only bits I remember of this conversation involved Scotland winning something.

That and Engerland about to lose something.

Then I ate a cheese roll and bit my tounge.

actually, missy, I said I was having a cheese roll,

you said "rock and roll"

I said "rock and (cheese) roll".

It was hilarious.

Perhaps you had to be there.

I am hoping England don't embarrass themselves. I may get shot for this, but I wouldn't mind France winning, although once England are out of the running I will be supporting Western Samoa.

Theres only 3 sides can realistically win it. France, New Zealand or Australia. Anyone but the Aussies of those three for me.

I think that Wales are hiding their true ability from everyone at the minute and we'll be in the quarters if not the semi's. :D

I thought the Rugby World cup wasn't until 2008 - although it has been a wait since the last one in 2000. I went to the semi - Wales vs Aus. Brilliant - they almost did them as well.

This will go over the majority of people on here's heads - except Gaspode I bet

Seriously 26 days! And why would that go over my head and not Gaspode's?

Because you blatantly don't get what I'm on about (not that you're supposed to necessarily) and I think he will.

I'm sure people will be if England start progressing. Another crap sport that everyone suddenly is a fan of despite spending the remainng 3 years and 11 months not giving a poo about it.

I love rugby and I hate it when people jump on the bandwagon just because their country starts winning. I'm sorry you think it's a crap sport Ballbag, you obviously don't understand either the game or the skill and beauty involved which is a shame.

I must admit, I do take an interest when England / Britain play (not just win) in most sports, however, I never claim to know about sports that I only take a part-time interest in.

Not necessarily, I think it's possible to appreciate the skill and understand the rules of a game and still dislike it. I understand that golfers are extremely talented in their chosen profession, but it doesn't mean I have to like the sport.

Also, while I've mentioned golf, does anyone (even golf fans) find golf on the radio interesting?

Just beacuse you understand they're talented doesn't mean you appreciate the beauty or the game. The rules and intricacies involved are only for true fans are they not Mr Ping Pong?

It's nothing to do with not understanding it slut, I just think it's pants. Played by and for a bunch of hoo-rah henrys, who when finished playing nip off to the showers for a bit of masculine-homo-eroticism before heading off to the pub where they annoying sing loud drinking songs, make each other drink pints of piss with fag ends in and generally annoy the fellow publicans.

Yes, but the "beauty" of any game is a subjective argument, so the fact that you believe the game is beautiful does not automatically render it a factual argument. This is true with any sport (table tennis included.)

Which just goes to show you know nothing about either the game or the players. Stereotyping is a dangerous thing Balls! How many Rugby players do you know?

I've always loved rugby. I'm not particularly looking forward to this though. I hope Western Samoa do well. I hope France don't win, although I have a horrible feeling they may. I thought that would be ok, but the more I think about it, the less I like it. The only thing worse really would be Wales winning, but thats not going to happen so we're all ok.

OOOh Yudster that's fighting talk. By the way it's now Samoa not Western Samoa and either they or England will go out in the first round. From your pervious comment I hope it's England!

I think it will be England, don't worry s4b! I still call them Western Samoa for sentimental reasons.

When I was 15 I wanted a Western Samoan Fullback but my daddy wouldn't let me have one. He was sooo cute, I just wanted to put him in my pocket and take him home
