what does everyone think of the new match of the day layout? I liked the red studio last year so I need to get used to the blue/clear studio. The bigger TV is a plus too.

AND...do BBC lose the premiership rights next year or is that just internationals?

I'm a bit late coming into this thread but i didn't know you was a Colchester fan Yuds?

Gunners got off to a bit of a funny start....gonna be one of those fustrating seasons again!

I'm more annoyed by Sky putting the score in the bottom left hand corner.

we get the sky feeds over here on the fox soccer channel and you can't actually see the stupid score because of its placement. i hate that channel. they also have the most horrible after the match wrap-up show hosted by some cardboard american who mispronounces all the team names he reads off the teleprompter. the two "experts" are blowhards- one's a koppite the other supports chelsea. ugh!!

They've actually changed where they put the score? Where's the sense in that, in pretty much any sport I can think of where a score is kept on screen (except snooker) on any channel, it's always in the same place, I can see how that would be very annoying.

You should try watching baseball on NASN over here. Watching Detroit v Oakland last night you miss loads of stuff that scrolls across the bottom because the NASN logo is there. Then they plug TV shows coming up which are obviously on whatever channel they get the feed from.

Also everything is sponsored which amuses me. The pitching change is sponsored Wacky Wallpapers or some rubbish. Its quite funny when the commentators have to read the slogans out "brough to you by Subway - Eat Fresh". I just cant imagine that in the middle of a footy game.

I don't know, they done well last season in their first season in the Championship! Champions this year?

Dong may as of yet be untested as a striker, but if given the games he would get United the goals.

Rooney may be out for the next 2 months, but Tevez and Saha can do the job until then, and as said give Dong a few games, and there's Solskjaer who will always get United 10+ goals per season when fit for the majority of it, but if Saha can keep himself fit until Rooney returns, Manchester United will be fine.

The game against Reading at the weekend was a poor game, but Chelsea v Birmingham was even worse, for Chelsea it was anyway. I know Chelsea did win that, but when you are a team like Chelsea and you concede two goals at home against a promoted team, I'll say no more.

Not a chance! The last few weeks of the season last year were excruciating, because we were so close to a play-off place (which would have been brilliant obviously) but all the while you get the feeling that actually the club had no ambition to really try for it - almost as if they were scared they might get promoted, which, to be fair, would have been laughable. It would be less so this season because at least we will have our new "stadium" for next season, but to be honest I think we'll struggle to stay up this year.

We have a new Alistair Campbell here. First of all an untested striker is going to set the work alight and then a draw is better than a win!

Why does it say Yudster said that? She didn't, Gaspode did. Are their Gremlins or is there something I need to know about Gaspode and Yudster being the same person? I hope not, Yuds is fun!

It still annoys me I put work and not world. Stupid me.

Its quite amusing the Man United results but if the RS win their next couple then there will be loads of rubbish about how they will win the league.

I must admit the Spurs debacle amuses me greatly. The Press are almost weeping for them.

Now if only the same would happen to West Ham and Newcastle.

it amuses me how now the american sports media (espn and fox soccer) have just discovered that everton exist. any mention still comes after a longer discussion of man u's crisis, but it's better than before. on my morning sports show yesterday, lescott's goal was considered "top play" number 2 and they showed the highlight. they never show english football highlights here. it was great.

i'm happy fulham won because my old friend will stop moaning. i'm unhappy that that anything about tottenham comes up because then mr kendra k starts saying "to' 'em 'ot 'spurrrr" in some rubbish * accent over and over again.

a) No I didn't you idiot
b) Whilst I am primarily a Colchester United fan I am married to a Manc with an Old Trafford season ticket, and some of that rubs off, so I "support" Man U too.
c) Gaspode was absolutely right, it was a ridiculous thing to say you fool.
