According to local Scottish radio this morning, it seems the funnier the name of your business is, the more chance it has of success (for example - "A Cut Above = hairdressers, etc.).

Have you seen any funny names for businesses, or, if you had a shop, what would you call it to make it stand out?

I wouldnt use a 'funny' name as it seems to me businesses with funny names close down quicker.

There's a new posh pastry shop opened in Colchester called The French Tart. I give it a year.

Most of the really succesful retailers, perhaps especially the independant ones, don't tend to use a catchy name to attract business. I always think that if they have to use a pun or a joke name to get your business, the product is probably not up to much.

Love the pastry shop name, yuds... there's a hairdressers down my way, called "Storm", which I think I would be reluctant to use because of the name!!

Sounds like they are trying to hint at a link to the famous model agency with that name.

There is a bakers in Manchester called "R. Dailey Bread". Doesn't seem that weird at first, but once you notice it you will be laughing for literally nanoseconds

There used to be a health food cafe which also offered spiritual healin in Newcastle called Super Natural. The carrot cake was awesome, but the idiot hippies with their crystals and tarot cards were best avoided.

Not a silly name, but just something that made me chuckle at the time:

I didn't mean that, I meant I'm not bothered if you ring it because it's not me who has to answer it.
