The abcess which will probably fill the crater in will be an excellent replacement.

Good grief! You lot are like a bunch of old housewives!

Gasman - go to the docs, they have a cool thing with nitrogen in it that they freeze the thing with, then it just falls off - job done.

I had one dealt with a while back - the doc said "now this won't hurt, look" and shot the nitrogen gun thing across his thumb. This should have satisfied me that there was no pain involved, untill I noticed how scarred his thumb was...

If its a big one then go to the doctors. They should have a minor surgery unit and they do it there. Knowledge from 5 summers working for my uncle in his surgery.

I'm not sure there's a line between the two where Gaspode's concerned.

If I'd said it before you decided to operate on yourself, would you have changed your mind? Because if I'd known thats what you were going to do, I'd definitely have mentioned the possibility of abcess, sepsis, septicaemia, tissue loss, possible amputation - versus a quick visit to the doctor and a quick removal in an aseptic environment, with advice on after care. You daft girlie you.

yeah thats what I did when I finally found the needle.. the main problem was not being fully able to see where they were.

I am registered at a doctor, but it's the same doctors I used when I lived at my mum's about four or five years ago, which is 10 miles away. I don't get ill either.
