Gas it means
Your state of Health remains unaltered whether you have gone to a Doctor or Not. The fact you have or have not had a consultation will not in itself alter your state of Physical Health.
Similarly your financial help will not improve whether you look at your Bank Statements or not, do you see now ?
The confusion arises as a result of the double negative, don't become less, which is you alter to a positive it could read " you do become more" which is why you probably git a bit confused as this was not the point of the post, so you have to leave it in the negative, and assume "don't" can not change the meaning of less to more, as it can only through change become passive in that making don't "do" you need to make less "unchanged"
So "you do become unchanged ill, by not having the doctor tell you what is wrong" would be a more easily understood statement, but would be weird, and unlike me Chris is a very important and busy person, so the double negative was an efficient way of making the point.
