Wales played a good second half today. At least one northern hemisphere team is attempting to play against the southern hemisphere.

By the way I know no one else cares about the rugby but it's amusing me so let me have my fun?

I hear Jason Robinson is heading back to Super League next season - possibly for Huddersfield. If it's true it'll show how much he's "let himself go", surely won't be able to keep up the pace of modern day RL

I know hes from Leeds originally so I assume he will get linked with loads of clubs round there. I can't see him playing again now he doesn't seem the type to drag out his career.

Fiji Canada was a good game. Samoa Tonga was disappointing, but I guess its understandable, they sort of cancelled each other out almost. Two months ago Mr Yudster placed a bet on South Africa to win the World Cup. I still think Australia, but I haven't seen New Zealand play yet. They always bottle it though, so I still think Australia. But Mr Yudster has a habit of getting this stuff right........

New Zealand are looking very good but they do slip up now and again however not sure who they'll slip up against. I think it's between New Zealand and South Africa but I have a funny feeling Mr Yudster may be right

He reminds me of Nicolas Anelka to look at. Incredible player. I thought he wanted to retire from international rugby, and just keep playing in the 12s, but the Australian RFU said that if he wouldn't play internationally, he couldn't play at all, and it was their ball and their goalposts and if he didn't like it he could go home, so there. Stupid ridiculous ruling, but also a sharp move by Australian rugby.

Bonus point. Whatever next. Better performance too, but still with gaping great holes in it. Still, no-one had any illusions England were going to perform well in this tournament, so why people seem so shocked about it is beyond me. And Scotland Wales and Ireland have all been just as bad, if not worse. But overall it hasn't been as good as the last world cup at all, only South Africa have a better team now than they did then. Still think its Australias to take though. New Zealand should have put a lot more than 40 points on that Scottish reserves team. Come on Italy!

I'd been wondering why Wales and Scotland had been playing their games at Cardiff and Murrayfield in the World Cup which supposedly takes place in France - apparently (I was told, don't know if its right) the French authorities (whoever they are) did a deal with Scotland and Wales before the venue was voted for, and said that if they voted for France, they could have their games at home. I suppose it was a fair bet, knowing that even home advantage wouldn't actually make a difference to the performance of either of those two teams.

I was talking to some South African rugby fans on Saturday - I saw Percy Montgomery play for the Barbarians against England a few years ago and he was brilliant - I said so, and the South Africans told me that he is hated by rugby fans over there, even though he is probably their most valuable player. When I asked why, they said its because he is gay. Didn't quite know what to make of that!

Also both Wales and Scotland dont have the grounds to be able to hold a full world cup so whatever they did they would have to go in with someone else. We all know that both countries have an inferiority complex so they couldn't bare to barter with England.

Tell you what, if you'd have told me that there was a good chance that England would be the only home nation team to qualify for the quarter finals before the tournament started I'd have thought you were mad.

That said, we'll get HAMMERED by Australia.
