Yet another "define yourself" moment.. this time, it's about patience.

How patient are you? And what makes you run out of patience?

I have limited amounts of patience, and a lot of things annoy me: traffic jams; queues in shops, and most of all... people I have to say everything to TWICE. I don't know if it's something about my voice, but I almost invariably have to repeat everything I say, whether in a cafe, on a bus, on a train, or in the street. Oh, and I don't have patience with people who can't understand me.

How is it for YOU?

I'm very patient, I don't lose my temper easily. In fact, I can't remember the last time I lost my temper.

Don't get me started. I said dont get me started.

In a world full of strangers, I like to think I get off easily when it comes to public places. I was in Burger King this week, very busy, Arndale bollocks as per usual - and in the queue next to me was a bloke with a very young daughter and a pushchair, she pushed it over making a mess right there and then - just while he was ordering the food in the pressure cooker environment of fast food places. I felt sorry for the poor *, it put things into perspective, I hate queues dont we all, and he was prepared to go to all that trouble so the little mite could enjoy her burger and chips.

I get a lot of that at work. Sometimes I can get away with blinding people with technobabble, but hald the time the answer is "What?"... moral of that story is that for blinding, a red hot poker is always better.

Ahhh we have systems here that detect who hung up or if it was a genuine cutoff and managers dont like it. I have tried the whole sound-like-you're-breaking-up trick to make the other person hang up though. It worked spectacularly.

If you do hit the 'release' button, make sure it's in the middle of when you're talking, not them; then it seems more authentic and they're less likely to complain that you cut them off.

I get easily annoyed with people in general.

A few months ago I fell out with one of my friends cause she wouldnt let me "cut in" line when we were trying to get into a club.

And the other day on the train all these middle aged woman were stroking some blind guys dog and he was growing at them, they kept saying "look his smiling at us"
I wanted to shout at em "THERES A * SIGN ON HIM SAYING "DO NOT TOUCH!"

And the last one was when I was trying to get out of Wembley last saturday there was loads of us waiting for the train and this guy came pushing through everyone and saying "sorry" and "coming through"
I said to him why are you saying sorry for pushing through everyone and he shouted at me "Im not pushing through im trying to get to the front" i told him to calm down and carried on pushing through. 1 of his mates shook my hand as well.

Crazy Stupid people!

I had a similar experience at a gig, a guy flashing some fake (and I mean really obvious fake) medical pass, i stopped him, then when he barged past anyways I could see him laughing with his mate and saying "Good this, innit"

Clearly I don't know the full story, but that strikes me as a rather trivial thing to fall out over.

Well my point was that I would of let her cut, everyone I talked to that night agreed with me and I felt compelled to ask her about it.

Most of my mates expect this kind of behavior out of me, I never fall out with em properly, its usually turned into a joke.

I have considerably more patience these days than I used to have. Its easier to be patient when you have perspective, and perspective comes with experience.....oh god I'm so old.

*clears throat*

"Patience is a virtue, seek it if you can. Seldom found in women, never found in men"

I don't necessarily agree with that but I have to agree with Yuds that with age comes patience. See a good thing about being older!

I like to think I'm patient. I'm not as ancient as you two though.
