Not at all scamp, but as someone (footy?) said earlier, there are often very good reasons why we would normally think certain things but not say them!

Agreed.

I have learnt from my mistakes :P

On certain topics, people have very strong opinions and while each side may think they are right, there is never an absolutly correct answer. Thats why on these topics, people can get pretty worked up over them. You are best either stating your opinion and then leaving it or not getting involved in the first place.

That said, there is nothing wrong with a healthy debate about something - as long as thats what its seen as and not an argument where neither side will back down till the other side is convinced.

Take the ongoing kit kat versus twix arguement - im right, everyone else is wrong - kit kats are better than twix. Simple.

Kit Kats are different from twix though, as far as I remember twix have some kind of caramel in them and I don't think Kit Kats do, therefore are we not comparing two different things? Should it not be "I prefer Kit kats to Twix"?

Now there's something I've thought but never said before! :D

Where is the delete Thread Button :D
You shouldn't be afraid in stating your opinions, Scamps. The best threads are the ones that result in a lively debate !! It is tho', as foot-loose, I think said, a topic where some people will have stronger views than others!!

p.s. twix rules!! :-)

This is exactly why justice is not emotionally led Viv.

And it's exactly why our justice system is currently something to laugh at, Balls!! :-)

So you would have vicitims and victims' families choosing punishment for the perpetrator?

I think that would lead to inconsistency, as some victims and their families would be more forgiving than others, so then there would be no justice at all.

That's one reason I think the idea is ludicrous. It's not the only one.
#307506
Some would be more honest than others, some would be more objective, some would have a better grasp of the situation, some would be brighter than others. Being a victim isn't a qualification.

If only it were.

Life is not easy, you can't have a one-size-fits-all system, because one size doesn't fit all.

Do you mind, I was posting a serious comment.

And it's not nice to remind people of such facts.
