The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Would you like to 'react' to my earlier question as to whether or not your (now Ex-) customer actually said it was because of Moyles' comments that he no longer wants to do business with you?
basicaly his customers started making jibes (jokey ones i hope) about buying jerky made by a "dirty sweaty" bloke, the comment was the one Moyles made, so yes, i would say direct result of the comment made :?

How do you know that they didn't also see Dragon's Den and make up their own mind on the subject, or perhaps they both saw the show and heard Moyles and agreed with him; either way you can't blame Moyles for your appearance on the show.

Could it not have been as a direct result of them having seen a dirty sweaty bloke on the TV themselves? As I said, I came to the same conclusion independantly of Moyles. I even remarked to Mrs B after the show.... "dragon's den was quite good, there was a crap Beckham look-a-like who lost the plot, and some weird sweaty mucky people trying to sell food".

Martin Cowley, rather than spend your time posting on here why aren't you out getting new customers and selling your business and your products?

Is it biltong they sell? Biltong is indeed lovely, but if everyone else who is not a friend of this guy is anything to go by, I wouldn't buy from him either.

Well it's a shame you don't portray the image of someone who meets high standards. How do you get that thing on your head in a hair net?

Apologies if it seems that way, but I'm not trying to be provocative.

I'm just curious that's all.

You don't get it do you. It doesn't matter how hygienic your operation is, or how clean you are, or how brilliant your product is. You went on telly and presented it, looking grubby and unwashed, and that is the impression that you have left. You messed up big time, not with your product, not with your business, but with your selling skills. Appearance counts, like it or lump it.

Yuds sums it up nicely there, I think the point I'm trying to make is that despite what you say about you being hygenic and meeting high standards the fact is, I don't believe you and thus wouldn't buy your product. I base this judgement on your appearance as I have seen it.
As you say, you can be how you want, and I totally agree with that, but it wont help your food business.

looking grubby and unwashed
sweaty armpits doesnt mean grubby and dirty does it ? it means someone was sweating, dont you sweat ? or do you just "glisten" or "glow" when you perspire :) ,

It wasn't just the sweaty pits. It was the whole package.

Listen to me. You. Looked. Dirty. I actually haven't mentioned "sweaty" at all because my impression of you was "grubby", not "sweaty" in particular. It matters how you present yourself if you are trying to sell something. If you can't take this crucial fact on board, I'm sure you'll continue to have a very successful local enterprise selling your product to a small number of buyers, but presumably you want more than that, else why go on Dragons Den in the first place - and until you accept that personal presentation is an integral part of a business package, you have virtually no chance of doing that. Be individual, be different, I can't see that being a problem - but you have to do better than you did the other night. Alternatively employ someone else to do the selling for you.

And the food preparation. Actually, why not sell the business?
