As I recently asked here - what do you think is the best internet browser and why?

I don't know Foots, I'm intrigued about this too. I rebuilt my laptop last week and I haven't upgraded to IE 7 but I have downloaded Firefox. They all have their merits but I doubt I browse enough to know for certain which is the better one.

windows update keeps shouting at me to upgrade to ie7, but last time i did that - it slowed the pc down way too much and I wasn't a fan of the tabs feature.

I prefer Firefox, as Console said, the add-ons are great, I can be on the same version of Firefox as the next bloke, yet the browser could be completely different, depending on our preferences and requirements. I also like the tabs (which work a lot better in Firefox, especially with the 'Tab Mix Plus' add-on.

Opera's not too bad either.

What sort of add-ons can you get?

I use Opera and that is amazing! you should have put the other browesers in the poll aswel.

Opera is the best for me

I can have all my fav websites there in front of me like a speed dial just click the number and it takes me to the website, and it also has the tabs instead of a diffrenet window for each page you open, like firefox and IE do..

What sort of add-ons can you get?

Literally loads. Too many to mention, but some of my favourites are:

• Greasemonkey - as mentioned by Console before, you can write little scripts to change the look and behaviour of particular web sites
• Download Statusbar - manage your downloads from the status bar at the bottom of the screen, without having to worry about extra tabs/windows
• FoxyTunes - control your media player from your web browser (handy if you're lazy and can't be arsed to switch windows)

I'm on my brother's laptop at the moment, so I can't really remember what else I've got, but the possibilities are endless:

I use firefox but have switched between them all in the past, I like the add ons available for firefox and the tabs. When IE starts it seems to take a while, ff just gets going.

Adblock plus is one of the best add ons I use

But I don't. If I did, my work colleagues would all point and shout "Eeeeeuw eeeeuw eeeuw you smell of wee" and make me go home. They did it to Gordon, they'd do it to me.

However, if I did smell of wee, which I don't, I wouldn't start a thread all about how I smelled of wee (which I don't). You did though. Geek.

i also use firefox because i'm addicted to tabs and free things. i should standardize my add ons for all of my different computers, but i am too lazy.

Firefox by far. I've got Vista and with it I got the newest version of Explorer, presumably it is 7 and it just keeps crashing. Firefox works like a dream.

I don't think this is fair as there are a couple of other 'common' browsers (Mainly Safari and Netscape).
All i can say is poor people that have vista!
