I fear for our once Great Nation....I fear mass immigration!

Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics suggest that, on current trends, the UK’s population will rise from 60.6million today to more than 71million by 2031, increasing pressure on housing, healthcare, schools, the transport system, energy and water supplies.

The bulk of this boom in population that we are to expect is driven by mass immigration which we do not need.

Don't get me wrong; I believe the UK requires 'sensible', 'controlled' immigration in order for its economy to survive. The majority of immigrants in the UK work in low paid menial jobs. They sweep roads, they scrub shitty toilets - they generally do the chores which we, the British feel is a little bit below us. However, what we don't need is 3 million of them knockin on the door to our green and pleasant land.

I say its to time address the facts, and take on board the estimated population figures for the future. We're already in a population crisis and could do with bolting the door shut before we're invaded any further.

Anyway, if you must pull that old pony with me of 'raped and pillaged in the past', if we hadn't have done so, the immigrants we currently have residing in Britain wouldn't have had the quality of life that they do now, so they should think themselves lucky

Actually Troll Toss you are a bit misguided there, Polish average hourly rate is higher than that of the "British" there are a great number of decent builders, plumbers, Electricians etc who bump up the average.

If we get 1 million immigrants, and you accept that unemployment has not risen then you have added 1 million jobs to the economy, about 2.5% of the working population and therefore the economy. So they have added 2.5% growth to the economy, if they all earn £10k a year thats £10,000,000,000 at an average deductible tax element of 33% plus 11% Employers National Insurance that is £4,400,000,000 added to the Governments tax revenue, which means that people like you get your dole paid, you family credit paid so you can spend all your days smoking fags, drinking cheap beer in Social Clubs and moaning about all the immigrants, imagining a time when we had an Empire and were well respected in the world, and you Grandfather went to War and died, and your gran was destitute with no NHS or Social and she had to spend her time whoaring in the work house to keep a shirt on her back and some bread in her belly.

You are just completely wrong, and your bigoted and intellectually starved point of view sums up the problem with Social Housing and Welfare, you can live and breath without adding anything to the common good of the society we live in except hatred and putrid attitudes which will condemn you to a sad life of anger and bitterness, caused by your own inadequacies.

ok I'm warming to this subject now. Boboff for PM! The other thing that has to be taken into consideration in the whole immigration debate is the fact that an equal number of people appear to be leaving our shores to emmigrate to other lands either for their idea of an idylic life or purely to escape paying tax here - *cough Lewis Hamilton cough*. Although there are vast numbers of Eastern Europeans, Asians etc immigrating here they do take on the jobs that we "Brits" don't want because we consider them to be 'beneath our dignity'. Cleaners, labourers etc are not jobs sought after by the vast British populous. To a certain extent we need these immigrants to take on the jobs at the lower end of they economic pay scale to ensure some kind of economic stability.

I can understand people's concern over the immigrant population but people like you only look at things from the negative point of view. I agree they should integrate themselves into our community and also learn to speak english - however huge swathes of 'British' people can't speak english correctly in my view and should be forced to re-learn their own language.

Immigration is a fact of life, it has been going on for thousands of years - if I traced your family tree I wonder if they were all "White English Supremacists" or whether you have some european/Asian/African/Australaisian blood in there somewhere.

The British can hardly be against immigration - we have been trying to move in on and take over other countries for thousands of years too - America & Australia, Hong Kong, India - your arguements are foundless and pathetic and, as Bobof has beautifully articulated, bigoted and intellectually starved!
