Do you have any unusual names for your pets? Or do you know of anyone with an unusual name for a pet?

Nihal was discussing this on Brekkie last Saturday. His own dog is called "Luna" - and NO, it's nothing to do with the moon! It's short for lunatic no less!!

We had three goldfish called Flipper Flapper and Flopper.

We won them at a fair. The last one died age seven. We didn't know which one was which.

I used to have a fish called Cushion. I currently have a rabbit called Strawberry, a cat called Malachi and a dog called Moses (his kennel name apparently was The Wandering Jew of Brandbury. I thought Moses was appropriate for a wandering Jew). When my daughter was about 7 she had two guinea pigs which she named after her two boyfriends at the time - they were called Ashley and Jake. I'm not really sure what constitutes unusual for an animal though!

One of Nihal's listeners on Saturday had a pet called "The Fresh Prince". Imagine out shouting that in the park!

My friend has a dog called "Lucky" which is a mystery seeing as the animal only has 3 legs, and has chewed most of their house.

My sister had a guinea pig called "Jigsaw". This got shortened to Jiggy.

Why my folks were away on holiday, mum left me a note saying "Remember to feed Jiggy salad."

He was known as "Jiggy Salad" for the rest of his days.

Jiggy Salad is a fantastic idea

Imagine being in a restaurant and ordering a steak -
"Can you tell me what comes with the steak?"
"Yes Sir, you get Jiggy with that..."

Na na na na nana na...

We had cats called Sam & Ella once, current odd ones are a cat called kate and a rabbit called Eddie, and we had two long haired black cats called Bob & Bruce, worst though was our first cat called Sydney Sussex, calling that in the street was embarrassing.

I used to have a ginger cat called Paddy (who was a fantastic cat) and we had an Irishman living next door, so going outside to call for him was a tad embarrassing. We also had a rabbit called Yankee and we had an American living two doors down. Neither of these were done on purpose. My mum's last dog was called Tilly and the golden retriever was Chester.

I always wanted a dog called Syndrome, so when it jumped up people you could yell "DOWN Syndrome!"

I used to have 2 rats called Data and Odo - was going through a bit of a Star Trek phase i think - and once a dog called Ribbon, who despite the name was a full blooded male in a way only a black cross breed can be.

When i got him as a puppy, i didn't have a collar for him, so i used the first thing available, which was a red ribbon. I think it gave him a complex though.
