I've actually done it as a teenager (hangs head in shame). I was good at it, because I could take myself out of the situation in my head, and remain cool as ice.

You goody two shoes you!. I must admit i stole a teddy bear when i was 12 or 13 years old. I put it under my jumper and ran like the wind out of the shop. I feel really bad about now of course, and i would never do it again!

Reminds me of Only Fools, the feature length episode, A Frog's Legacy, when Rodders meets Aunt Rene:

[Talking about Rodney as a baby]

Rene: Do you remember when I took you shopping that day in Woolworths?
Rodney: No
Rene: As I was pushing you round you were picking things up off the counters and I didn't know! When I got home and took you out the pram I found three bottles of scent, a packet of Weights and a Helen Shapiro record! So the next day I took you up Selfridges!

I didn't have to steal anything to make the alarms go off around the store when I was younger, my old hearing aids didnt really get along with the tag detectors as I walked out.

I remember steeling about 20 postcards from a shop when I was about 10, when they were found at home, my parents would not believe I had bough them as they were all the same! They thought that was pretty stupid and made me take them back. I also tried to steel a T shirt by keeping it on, I got caught as I think I was the only person wearing a big coat with the zip done up on a particularly hot day. I cried and said I forgot to take it off, luckily they let me off ! From then on I worked out that I was always going to be a bit crap at it and didn't bother again ( plus on both occasions I really shit myself)

I do that all the time. Blokes just aren't meant to notice change though, that's why whenever I go out with female friends, they always look at me angrily before storming off to the bar when one of my other female friends tells me to mention her new haircut which looks exactly the bloody same to me anyway!

I'm not observant at all. I mean, there was this one time that there was a big holly tree in the back garden. It got cut down, right, and i never noticed for aaaaaaaaaaaages!

My coil did that before we changed our security barriers at work - was embarrassing whenever I walked in or out of mine or a couple of other stores - seems to have desisted now though thank god, was very difficult to explain!

Good God, s4B!! That's not a contraceptive I've ever tried, and if this is the kind of effect - forget it!

I once set off a lot of alarms in Littlewoods in Glasgow, whilst entering the store. I think it may because I have a metal pin inside my right arm.

Surely you are in the same football boat?

If I lose, so do you?

(PS - i've never given a rats ass about football - but such a fuss is being made of this thing tomorrow, I figured I should get involved.)

(PPS Has anyone ever given someone a "rats ass" for something? It's a strange form of currency.)

I don't follow football, so don't care who wins or loses. I'll be oblivious. :-)

I'll be in the centre of Glasgow, my mates band have somehow managed to get themselves a gig in one of the clubs in the city. Somehow, I think i might pick up the vibe.

Unlikely as it might seem to those who know me, even I will be cheering for Scotland tomorrow. I'd love you to knock Italy out, and it would also be a much needed kick in the baws for England, if you qualified and England didn't. And then Portugal to win the tournament.
