For some reason I'm listening to "Make your own kind of music" by Mama Cass Elliot an awful lot today.

Favourite song is "uninvited" by the Freemasons. I got it for my birthday, and can't stop playing it. The singer has the most angelic, beautiful voice. On The Lie-In yesterday morning, they played the original which was equally beautiful.

I know it's a bit gay, but it's a beautiful song.

Is that the same as Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright? Because if it is, I like that too.

I believe Rufus Wainwright did a cover version of it. Tis a good version, not as good as Jeff Buckley's version.

And no Viv, it's not in the charts at the moment.

Oh, and Console.....Evanescence???? Really?? Give me strength.

That is a beautiful song, although I'm not sure if I've actually heard Cohen's original version, I've mostly only heard Rufus Wainright's cover.

Really, really. Amy Lee has a beautiful singing voice and Evanescence is the only group I've actually liked an entire album of; I like two full albums of theirs now actually.

If it's been on the Radio 1 playlist then it's highly likely that I wouldn't like it. I can't actually think which song 'Uninvited' is though (or for that matter which band 'The Freemasons' are).

I just wikipediad it, and the Rufus Wainwright Hallelujah is not the same as the Leonard Cohen - apparently it isn't a cover, but the Cohen song is referenced in the the Wainwright song. Not having heard the Cohen, I wouldn't know! I may download it later, if at all possible.

Cheesy though it may be, of all the current singles at the moment, I like Take That's one - is it Rule the World? I know it was released to coincide with the movie, but it's a shame, it would have been a lovely Christmas single.

Can you use Wikipedia as a verb?

I was about to say, if you can Google it, why can't you wikipedia it? Although I would obviously prefer to Wikipaedia it myself, being English.

I like Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park like that (actually, that's not true, although it is if you exclude (I think) the penultimate track.) I also like American Idiot and Different Class by Pulp all the way through.

Listening to radio 4 yesterday on my way home from work and they were saying how you cannot believe anything in Wikipaedia. One guy on there said his biog said he had died and he was most certainly live and kicking! I have a healthy mistrust of Wiki now

Yeah, but they are normally pretty hot on moderating Wikipedia and its family.

Arguably, allowing anyone to edit is both the upside and the downside.

my favourite song changing on a daily basis. but today it is Stick to The Status Quo (High School Musical).. and before you all start complaining about it..
its because we're doing the stage show at school and i had a 2 hour rehearsal after school today.

which was actually fun.
though i still feel the need to slap little children.
grrr.

Wow, here's something you don't read all the time -- I'm going to agree with Console AND Viv. Amy Lee, without a doubt, has one of the most beautiful voices. Her vocals on "My Immortal" and "Bring Me To Life" are hard to top. Their new album is fantastic. And, the "Uninvited" Freemasons' song is great.

It was 'My Immortal' and 'Bring Me To Life' that got me into Evanescence. Both songs were in the Daredevil film, and I thought they were brilliant, so I looked them up and got the album. Both of their current studio albums are great, and their live album is pretty good too, especially the last track (not a live recording), Missing, a fantastic song.
