Assuming that you're using an NT based Windows, then I think that there is a way to set it up so only a specific group can access USB drives. It involves setting permission on some USB drivers I think, so that only the people you choose can access them, so that when a USB drive is plugged in, only the people that can access the drivers will have the drive show up.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, NTFS should allow that. Cheers (although it would be a pain in the arse to set up, as it means setting permissions on the individual files on 200-odd PCs, some of which are remote (and we don't have any decent VNC software currently)).

Now we're not going to turn this thread into a private discussion now are we? :P Even worse when we try to write down colloquial Scots and so it justs looks silly. I'd end up coming out with near Doric things anyway, so best not go there, I hate Doric. 8)

It really is pretty straight forward to quote properly though, missy.

To quote what you have written above, all I did was press the "quote" button on your post. This opens up the reply window with your quote already in it - I don't need to touch it. If you look at something that is being quoted:

Code: Select all
I'm a bonco at logical tasks.
...then you notice that there are two boxes at each end of the quote (inside "[ ]"). These are what tell the forum what you are trying to do. Make sure you don't touch them - otherwise it wont work.

Also - click HERE and read the paragraph about quoting.

I've never heard of the word "bonco" before.

Look, I have read the para about quoting. I just need a bit more practice, and now you're making me nervous and anxious about it :-(

Also, when you are in said reply window, you can scroll down a bit to see the most recent posts (I'm not sure how many, but a fair few). Each of these posts has a "quote" button, which will automatically place "quote" tags around the text of the post you clicked it for in the message body, at the point that the cursor is placed at. This is handy for multi-quotes.

Apologies, was only trying to help - knowledge is power and all.

What is weird viv is that you never used to have any trouble, it's only been recently. What happened? Did you stand too close to the x-ray machine for a long time?!

I will no longer be quoting. I will just write out people's words and comment on them.
