Following on from the very interesting "Music For A Good Mood" topic, this is one for music for a bad mood!

Which songs instantly depress or annoy you, would you say? For me, it's Daniel Powter's "Bad Day". This particular song annoys the Hell out of me.

That OC song, California. It's a massive pile of crap and annoys me because they are signed.

I could really get on my soap box here about music that irritates me, but i'm not going to, because it'll start my day on the wrong food, so I'm just going to mention any R&B songs with speeded up vocals, such as Akon, and that one on the playlist at the moment, of which the name escapes me.

And that dancefloor song, with the lyrics - "let me wet my throat, down two or three, then its off to the dancefloor, follow me etc" - have you actually listened to those lyrics? arghhhh!

I have to stop now...

Any bland American style middle of the road crap, such as Celine Dion, kelly Clarkson etc. Oooh it gets my goat it does.

Oh, and I'll add all those enw bands that sounds the same and are all awful - Scouting For Girls, the Pigeon Detectives, the Wombats, Jack Penate. *shudder*

Hmmm, I think I can tolerate most music and it depends on my mood what I like.

That squeaky Akon tit song is irritating - the one that has a sorta budgie making a noise in it. It's even more irritating that some people think it is good!

Wooop!

*clears throat and starts singing*

Tumble outta bed and stuble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
I yawn and stretch and try to come alive.
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumping
Out on the streets the traffic starts jumping
With folks like me on the job from nine to five!

That was from memory as well.

*boogies*

I can't stand Fast Car by Tracey Chapman. Horrible horrible voice, horrible horrible song, I want to die when I hear it. Which is pretty often as my daughter is using it for her choreography piece for her Dance GCSE.

Anyone want to adopt an almost 16 year old gir......hang on, scrub that, I'd better keep her I think.

Damm...... not really.

The song that I really like, but does effect me is Up the Junction by Squeeze, it always reminds me of the Lyn Read Banks Novel L Shaped Room, which deeply effected me when I read it, having just moved into a 10ft square bedsit on top of a Pub. It doesn't make me sad but it does rekindle all those old lonely feelings.

When we were ready we had to sell the Telly,

I hate this song, too! Or anything by Creedence Clearwater Revival or any country music...or rap. Or, to be honest, most music from the 70s unless it was the Rolling Stones.

I hate the double T or twoT record that was a giant steaming number 2 in the charts, the one with all the plinky plonky stuff and some 14 year old singing about how she's heartbroken or something. Makes me want to kick the car radio to death when I hear that song playing.

The only problem is I don't drive.
