Will Smith will be directing a remake of Karate Kid, according to this http://www.moviesonline.ca/movienews_13672.html.

Will, if you're reading this, I am going to track you down. When I have found you I am going to rip off your ridiculous, Mickey Mouse style, sticky out ears and I will FORCIBLY RAM THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT you one dimensional, talentless fraud of an actor.

I'm not a hundred percent sure, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I just kind of got the vaguest idea that perhaps if you were really really pushed, you might say that you aren't absolutely and completely Will Smith's biggest fan. Although I could be wrong.

Not happy then, no?

Personally I thought The Italian Job was a remake too far, which would make this two remakes too far (unless there have been more in the meantime that I can't think of right now.)

Au contraire. I happen to think that grinning inanely at any camera in sight and shouting "HELL NO!" in every single film makes him one of the finest thespians of the modern age.

The Get Carter remake was pretty bad as well. As was War of The Worlds, starring you know who.

There are some of us who would say that however hot Matt Damon, George Clooney et al are (and oh how very hot they are), Oceans 11 and sequels are an insult to the Rat Pack original........

I disagree
As a film, i thought it was a good mindless atmospheric enjoyable cheese fest (Bit like ID4)
as a remake, if you compare it to the book (my number one of all time by the way) or the fantastic Jeff Wayne musical, then yea, its a complete let down. If you compare it to the old film (where they didn't even have tripods...) then its actually better.
So if you treat it as a stand alone film (along with the new italian job) then its ok.

Hotness aside (because that doesn't bother me; not in them anyway) I thought Ocean's 11 was very good. Granted, I've not seen the original and I did think 12 was bad and haven't seen 13.

13 was a significant improvement over 12; 12 was awful, 13 was very watchable and quite enjoyable, it was almost on a par with 11.

People don't get the fact that 12 was the cast taking the piss out of themselves! I love all of them although I will agree that IF I had to choose a weaker one it would be 12. Yuds I do prefer it to the original I'm afraid and I used to love that!

Frankly, that's completely irrelevant; it was a bad film.

It's not irrelevant it was hilarious! I loved every second. Mind you I don't watch Star Trek movies so as far as you're concerned Console I probably have no taste anyway

It's a classic geek reference, it doesn't mean I've seen the films (although I have seen a clip of that particular bit). I think I have actually seen a couple of the ST moves, two of the TNG ones, but I couldn't really tell you much about them.

But Will Smith is very good looking. Plus he was a great guest when he was on the show

Aren't we lead to believe that Data and Tasha (?) had sex more than once? I think it's implied on one of the episodes shortly after Tasha's death.

I've never watched a Star Trek film (or indeed an episode of Star Trek) in my life and I agree with Console on this one. It was rubbish.

I was never quite sure what the connection between Tasha and the evil Romulan Tash-a-like was meant to be, I missed a couple of episodes there.
