Best Tastes -

Hot mince pies with clotted cream,

A bacon sandwich made with gammon and fresh bloomer loaf bread, with mushrooms,

Ripe, smelly Stilton with bread as above,

Cheesy Mash,

That first sip from a bottle of Becks,

Hot buttered toast,

Heavily vinegar'ed chips from the chipshop

I have simple tastes I think.

charlalottie wrote:Thats way too posh for comfort food. Comfort food needs to be really rubbish and stuff you make when you're too sad/lazy/tired/ill to do anything proper. Like cereal.

Like a KFC Fully Loaded Meal? Or Subway Meatball Marinara? OK you don't make them, but it's pretty lazy. And nice.

How come there's a Subway on every street all of a sudden? Are the shops merely a front for some sort of Russian gangster activity?

We have two in Milton Keynes and a short while ago we didn't have any. I'm not complaining.

Only 2 in Milton Keynes? Watch out, by this time next year they will have taken over. No escape.

Or just cheese. But I'd go with your suggestion too.

Is it weird to like parmesan on its own?

See you moan about men because you say they always complain when they're ill, yet what are you doing.

*Gets off high horse*

Mashed potato is quite fiddly, and takes too long to make, but it is classic comfort food. I want some now.

That's a great question. Six months ago we had one Subway in Colchester. Now we have four. Four!

Mash is nice only when it's creamy with no lumps. It's been a long time since I had pie and mash with liquor. I think I need to get some soon.

there's one opposite my house. It used to be a Victoria Wine, which could well mean that people now prefer Subs to alchohol. Worrying.

Only 1 in Basildon? Who decides where to locate them? Why have they put so many in Birmingham.

They used to have more in Basildon but the others have been hidden by the cigarette butts and dirty nappies that all the 12 year olds have thrown in the street.

....and the empty bottles of white lightening that the 15 year olds have left behind too!
