My theory is if you know what I mean what does it matter?

Even if all the members of this forum did know what all the stupid text-talk acronyms and shortened-for-no-reason-at-all words meant, then text-talk still looks messy and is hard to read. Just write in English, that way there's a far greater chance that people will be able to understand what you're saying.

It's acceptable on a mobile phone if you're low on credit (cheapskate) and the only way your message will fit into 1 message (if that makes sense) is to abbreviate it. But to use it when there is no other reason to is just lazy and darned irritating.

I know what you mean about worried. I couldn't sleep for much of last night due to concern over our lack of dog-sitter. We've evicted our lodger so he can't do it. Kennels will cost a fortune and it will be tricky to take him with us this year.
