How are you planning on spending New Year's Day?

I have been invited on a trip to Mars. The spaceship leaves at 1000 hours, and returns at 1800 hours. I am sooooo excited about this.

Mars might sound like fun, but you know fine well that I could take you to the moon and back.

I'm working at the Rink of Doom, 10.30am-6.30pm. In the evening I plan to watch rubbish tv and eat rubbish food.

I hate New Year. You know how S4B was about Christmas? Well, that's me at New Year. I don't really know why though, I just can't bear it.

I'm looking forward to this new year because hopefully it'll be the last one I spend with Mrs Topher. I possibly need to explain that... hopefully it'll be the last one she's not working.

Speaking as a mother of a daughter not much younger than you - good luck! And pray she doesn't come home early.

If they do, don't lie - just modify the truth. You don't have to admit to a full scale party, but you could confess to having a few friends around for supper and drinks. If the house isn't wrecked (which it won't be, will it?!), they won't be too pissed off with that, and if the neighbours story is wilder, you can just say that they were mistaken, and are being over- nosey and trying to make trouble.

I can't believe I am giving this advice..........

I only ever had one house party when I lived at my mum's. It was a joint effort between my sister and I (which was rare in those days) and we didn't clear up properly afterwards. We did have a * good party though. My mate brought his decks and lots of people were sick (outside). The neighbours are brilliant and the only ones who complained are the ones my mum doesn't like anyway, so had we cleared up properly, we'd have been in the clear.

Ah, those were the days. Like I said, we only had one.

I made an adult, professional woman cry once by explaining why I can't stand Savage Garden. I didn't mean to, if someone told me they hated The Jam and explained why, I don't think I'd cry. I didn't expect her to.

We had Darren Hayes on at our place a couple months ago. The audience seemed to be largely gay men, which surprised me til I realised that he is gay. That shouldn't affect his audience really, but apparently it has.

I don't think I am talking to you after the 'Uranus' comment, but even if I was - why would I care that you disliked B*Witched? It was Gaspode that got all excited by them. I found them vaguly amusing.
