My Aunt kindly bought me an Itunes gift card for christmas, but I can't seem to use it without registering an account with a valid credit card. My parents don't have one so I can't even borrow that. Any ideas how I can get round this?

Don't you have to be 18 for one of them?

If you've a bank card, you should be able to use it. It accepts Switch/Solo/Maestro I think so maybe try that.

It says if you have a debit card, you also have to use a credit card to register. Proof of identity or something.
Is a bank card the same as a debit card? :?

i wouldn't of thought you need both a debit card AND a credit card. Come to think of it I don't have a credit card and I have an account. Yea, a debit card is a card you use in a cash machine and one you put in the little slot before you type your pin number in in Asda.

Ahhh. Yeah, I tried registering my dads debit card but then they asked for a credit card, to prove the identity and for if he has no money in his account. I don't like iTunes anymore.

I love gravy, with plenty of onions in it.

Dont use itunes, it's rubbish, far too restrictive. Also they charge extra for non DRM tracks, which in my opinion is wrong. DRM doesn't work anyway.

Also the bit rate is terrible and they won't give me my album art with a credit card. Thank god for the yahoo widget or mediamonkey. Glad had a happy ending :)

They are very restrictive. I used to be able to get around the U.S./U.K. thing by bypassing the software but they've updated it and now I can't get any new Radio 1 music at all. I have to have my friends in the U.K. get it for me. It's ridiculous. By the time that music hits the States (if it ever does) it isn't even being played on Radio 1 anymore. I was laughing the day Moyles was discussing the same restrictions. If they show it on iTunes you should be able to get it - regardless of where in the world you live.
