I'm bored again so have decided to do another quiz. This time less geeky/nerdy (apart from number 1).

1) " "Where's Papa going with that ax?" said Fern to her mother as they were setting the table for breakfast. " is the first line from which novel?
2) The knight, miller, squire and merchant are all travelling to which city?
3) Who wrote "Get Shorty"?
4) What nationality is the hero in Beowulf?
5) Homer's Iliad depicts the siege of which city?
6) George Orwell was down and out in which cities?
7) Prospero, Miranda and Ariel are characters in which of Shakespeare's plays?
8) Which Monica Ali novel was shortlisted for the Man Booker prize in 2003?
9) "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. " is the first line of which novel?
10) Mycroft was the brother of which fictional detective?

Meant to delete the "apart from number 1" bit as it was originally going to be sci-fi based but I decided that only Console would get it so changed the question.

I don't think I should enter this for 3 reasons

1. I have an unfair advantage
2. I don't want to appear a geek
3. If I get any wrong it would be very humiliating and no one would ever let me live it down

As I said before it's not the subject but the depth of knowledge on a subject that makes one a geek. Depth is very important and by illustrating your knowledge you are definately a geek.

See definition 3.

I'm a bookseller, you wouldn't believe the vaguity of some people's requests. I was once asked for a book called "Seers Mona" by "some bloke" and I had to work out what it was. Took me a few seconds but got there in the end. Oooh see if you lot can work out what the person wanted, she was really pleased when I found it as she had an essay to write - that is honestly all the information I was given.
