Weird that you resurrected this thread today kendra, as I just went in this afternoon to book the appointment for my next tat, which i'm having next saturday. Your owl is crazy. Why d'ya choose that design?

i told the artist i wanted an owl with a candle on its head in a book, he did the rest. i like owls and books, and it seemed sort of traditional. i might get another owl from the same guy next year.

Ah, it's candle wax! I thought it was, but I wasn't sure. Mine is gonna be the Olivia de Bernardis drawing of Bettie Page as a mermaid, on my lower leg. This one will take me to 13, which sounds a bit worrying! I might need to get another straightaway to even it out

no, i said it. but then i started reading more about traditional tattoo art and paying attention to artists and decided i should have faith in the artist.

I don't have many colours in my tats cos i have funny skin (keloid skin if ya wanna get technical about it) and they don't seem to heal very well on me. My cross has green in it and that looks fine, but one of my others has a bit of red in it and that just didn't heal right. Altho that could just be cos I picked at it, I'm a terrible picker and fiddler. When my tats are healing and itchy I have to sit on my hands to stop myself from faffing about with them.

You should use haemarroid cream to help them heal it works REALLY quickly then you would have less chance to pick at them.

Nah, my tattooist advises against that. He recommends only E45 or Beptharen so I always just use those.
