Everyone has an accent. I couldn't really place yours, but I didn't speak to you for that long. It certainly wasn't Welsh.

That's because it's an educated accent that has no grounding in any particular area. If I speak to anyone with a welsh accent though I start picking it up which is fairly embarrassing as they think I'm taking the mick!

It's funny how some people pick accents up easier than others. When I worked in a call centre, I used to work with this guy who would pick up hints of someone's accent after a couple of minutes of talking to them.. people on the phone used to think he was takiing the piss.

I pick up on accents really terribly. We were once having a luncheon at my old job and I was sitting around the table with all my bosses and our band of 4 attorneys and one of them was from Texas. She was seated beside me. I had two glasses of wine. I couldn't help myself. By the end of the meal I was speaking in a Texas drawl. It was so pronounced that she glared at me when she left. Everyone else was just gaping.

my accent is rubbish because i say schedule oddly, and also use too many affected british pronunciations. i'm pretentious like that.
