The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I think the on air version of what we heard came across well and this is all credit to the team. they made it sound better as they had to work their arses off to get what they did. i think they even said they were knackered afterwards.

I was listening and i just kept thinking "Show him the desk, Show him the desk" even if he did this at 8.15 and kept trying to talk for an hour we would have know Chris was unhappy and he could have taken the piss a bit more.

Did anyone notice how many records he played during that hour. The music department have tried to book Chris Rock for next week all 5 days but he is busy unfortunatly.

cheers oh hello

He admittedly (though I only saw the last bit of his interview) seemed a lot better on there.

How good does Hannah (I think it's Hannah, she and her other half are in a dinosaur programme) from S Club 7 look with black hair..

I turned off during the Chris Rock interview. I find him offensive and hippocritical.

How is he allowed to use the "N word" so much to describe black people? I dont understand how his sell-out black american audiences find this so funny? Is he allowed to say it because he is black? Any why are the black community of the Uk accepting this?

I dont remember Jim Davidson or Bernard Manning getting as much publicity as this rude and offensive man.

i was really gutted about the whole thing, i have loved chris rock for years, have all 3 of his stand up dvds, and he just cracks me up, so i thought moyles and rock would be comedy gold, looked forward to it all week, and it was lame!! he just didnt want to know, which is a shame, then last night on rossy he was very funny! still love the guy, but he could have made an effort for moyles...

I have been critical of a hell of a lot of Moyles interviews as I think he is simply incapable of getting the best out of his guests. The way he just talks about himself just makes me want to turn the radio off. I dont mind usually, but when there is a guest in, talk about them. A perfect case in point is Gordon Ramsey. Ramsey is an interesting man who who is also a good laugh but all Moyles does is constantly intereupt him and Ramsey just nervously chuckles. All the good guests on the Moyles show are good in spite of Moyles, not because of him.

Having said all of that, I dont blame Moyles at all for that interview yesterday. I thought that the little that Rock did say was actually quite funny, but he clearly was tired and couldnt be bothered to put in any effort at all. One thing that does annoy me is when Moyles comes out with the "they dont get the show" cobblers. All that is is an excuse to absolve himself of any blame and to excuse his own lame interview technique. As bad as the Rock interview was it didnt make me want to turn off, which is what I do on most of Moyles interviews.

Moyles' interviews with Ramsay are pretty much always funny because they work well together. I don't think he 'nervously chuckles' at all. If he was that uncomfortable, he wouldn't bother coming in again.

I have it on good authority that the beer and darts gag was also wheeled out on Steve Wrights show, Radio 2.

I don't think the interview was that bad. The only thing Chris Rock was guilty of was being tired. Although, there were times when I was questioning whether he was stoned but other than that, it was OK. As for Gordon Ramsay, I think his interviews are brilliant. He is obviously very comfortable with Chris and from watching all his shows and other interviews, that's just his laugh. It's not a nervous chuckle.

Whilst exactly repeating a gag like that isnt great, most comedians do it.I am a big fan of Russelll Brand and most of what he does in interviews is just watered down stuff that he does on stage and he is still a popular Moyles guest. Granted, he also puts in far more effort than Chris Rock did.

I get the impression that what upsets Chris Moyles (and Rachel and the rest of the production team I imagine) is that even though they have 8 million listeners, franchises like Chris Rock still don't take an appearance on his show as seriously as they would an spot on a TV show with half that audience - and they don't put in the effort accordingly. He has said before that he finds that attitude disrespectful to the show and to Radio 1 in general, and I think he's right. I think the Chris Rock thing is a classic example.

The 3 minute condensed version of the interview sounded ok though.

I read in the Metro again (sorry but it's free so it's the only paper I read with any regularity) that it's not just TCMS that he's upset, apparently newpapers, magazines and TV shows up and down the land are saying "Never book that man again"

So maybe this will be his first and last UK tour, he obviously doesn't like it here anyway....

Colin Murray, before he played his "In the company of" interview with Rock said how he's been a fan of him for a while and thinks he's one of the top comedians in the world (which as I've said, I don't agree with), but the guy was a nightmare and it was like pulling teeth. They played it, but made clear beforehand that it was heavily edited to cut out the long silences and awkwardness. He even tried to make excuses for him, saying that you never really know, he could have been given some really awful news the night before, which I guess is true, but unlikely. I didn't really listen to much of the actual interview, as I got out the car, but suffice to say that Murray sounded deeply disappointed that someone he clearly wanted to be an excellent interviewee, wasn't.
